Quaife install flubbed... Redemption comes!

As I reported a week or so ago, my Quaife was installed by a local Memphis Nissan Dealer with which I have established a good working relationship. The work they have done for me in the past has been very good, but two minutes after I got the car back this time, I noticed the shifting action was *very* difficult. The "gates" were vague and hard to find. The faster I accelerated the more difficult it was to shift. It was nearly impossible to shift above 5,000 RPMs. I reported the problem to my dealership the very next day.

I took the car back in for repair yesterday. I described the problem, and I suggested what the problem could be. (The folks on this forum were very kind to make suggestions. Thanks!) The dealer said they'd take a look and call me. I didn't know what to expect. :bawling:

This morning, the dealer called and told me they agreed with my (our) diagnosis. They told me they would correct the faulty installation at NO CHARGE (!), and they apologized for my inconvenience.

Can you believe that? I am dumbfounded. I heartily recommend the good folks at Bluff City Nissan in Memphis, TN. I'll let y'all know how the car shifts after their "second attempt" is completed... Thanks.

WOW!

That is a great dealer.

This is why I DIY, this was a one in a million that they would fix it for free.

I'm still [almost] speechless. Thanks for your moral support.

that's cool

My brother put a huge dent in the trunk lid of my Maxima a few years back. We got a few estimates ranging from $400-$1000 to take the dent out and repaint the area. We decided to just let it go and fix it if or when the car gets rear-ended. I take my car to Quality Nissan in Garden Grove, Ca for an oil change and the car comes back washed with the dent taken out.
