stock 15" with h&r and kyb agx's
I want to upgrade my soft 98 gle suspension to agx's and h&r's but don't have the money to upgrade my stock 15" "sawtooth" rims and skinny 205 toyo a05's right now (30k miles). will i run the risk of flying off the road during "spirited" driving or rain or light snow because of the firm suspension with stock tires?? not sure if i'll upgrade from 15 to 16" because of the thread red112fl started about better handling with his 15" rims, but i will eventually change to better all season performance tires like Dunlop Sport A2's or Bridgestone Potenza 950's. Thanks!

you will be better off than you are now with that upgrade.. so it can only do good.. not harm

I currently have 17" rims, Dunlop SP8000 and the AGX's. Winter is coming here in NJ so the 17's are coming off. I'm putting the stock 16" 5 spokes back on with brand new Dunlop Sport A2's. I'll post a review on that setup on Saturday after I give them a run in.

I may be getting KYB AGX's for my max and I want to stick with my stock springs. If you still have stock springs, what do you think of the KYB upgrade, is it really good etc.? Thanks |

Originally posted by emax95 njmaxseltd, do you still have your stock springs on your car? I'm very happy with the stock springs/AGX setup. Car rides very firm, yet smooth and quiet. I highly reccomend this setup to anybody who wants to keep a nice ride and get all the benifits of a tighter suspension for handling. The adjustability is excellent. With 5 people in my car and the rear set up on 5 or 6 the car has NO extra bounce at all. Even on NYC streets, no problem - the suspension soaks everything up. |
