What is the most gas you've stuffed in your tank?
For me it is usually around 15.5 gallons, but once I ran on fumes and put in 16.4 gallons. My wife gives me **** all the time about ridding on E and if I ever run out, She will make me push the car to a gas station.:goofy: She says no roadside assistance for joo!!

I've come close
I managed to put in 16.02 gallons once it I remember correctly. It was definitely in the 16 gallon range. I'm aware that there is a one gallon reserve that you never burn due to the nature of the gas tank, but shoot...I almost conked out. It's really dumb too considering all the gas stations I drive by. I use to run the car til the red light went off (sometimes an extra 40 miles after that too). I now fill up whenever I'm in the Disneyland area (about once a week or so) since gas is only $1.05 for premium at Chevron.

56 liters, how many gallon is that?

I usually put in 15-16 gallons, but once I put in 18 gallons... I had chugged my car all the way to the gas station and it had stalled on me once.

Never tried my luck, it's pretty bad to start with, don't need to push it

The most I ever filled up was 17.4 gallons. I assume the gas tank never really fills up all the way, so I prolly had less than a gallon left at that point.
I notice whenever I try to start the car with the low fuel light already on, it has a hard time starting. |
Man, 17.4 gallons? Talk about bone dry! I was close, filled up to 17.1 gallons once. Just before I got to a station, I went up a loooong hill. The car hesitated every time I applied a little throttle

17.4 gallons was the most I put in my '95. The needle was well under 'E' with black showing between the white line for 'E' and the red needle. :)

yesterday: 17.571 gallons.

67.5 litres = 17.8 gallons. When it started sputtering on the highway I figured it was time. The guy at the pump thought I had an SUV.
Ran it for 100KM-120KM (60-75 miles) with the idiot-light on. My usual fill up is anywhere between 58-62 litres (15.3 - 16.4 gallons). The gas milage I get is fairly consistant so I can guestimate to +- 1 litre it will take. (btw 56 litres = 14.7 gallons). |
I've put mid 17's in before, and I had stalled it twice (being out of gas) getting it there... I usually put about 4-5gallons in my tank just to keep it lighter haha, and do a daily fillup.. my jeep gr. cher. limited has the stupid thing that tells you how many miles to your empty (dte), and i got it to -6 :) HAHAHAH it was the best... I have yet KNOCK ON WOOD to run out of gas and be stuck... I run my car hard enough when I am low on gas (not racing... :)) that the fuel pump will kick back at like 5k rpm telling me I am out, then I walk it nice and easy to gas station ahha...
the worst ever, running out while racing.. usually never happens in 1st or 2nd.. but near the end of 3rd if you are realllly low, thats where it will kill it, and thats our good gear too :( it has happened more then once to me, hard to explain to people "yeah I ran out of gas" |

I've done 17.5, and not comfortably. I believe the needle is pinned to E when there is 2 or so left. Normally I fill her up when she's above half or so, because I am on the 4th sending unit and the other 3 went haywire when the fuel level went down. We long-term owners know of at least these five issues:
oil leak, though very small power brake check valve manually tranny o-ring fuel sending unit front strut boots tear early Though I don't think the Maxima is a good "kid's" car as it seems to be now, it's not really a good "bread-winner's" car either. I think some of us bought these suckers new when we first made real coyne because we still were value conscious. But later in the year that Social Security cap makes us all Donald Trumps when the govt stops taking from the checks. I think the spirited driving that my buddies tell me about with their Audi and BMW entry-levelers, and the lack of problems with their cars makes me wanna plunk the money down next time--not small, almost 10 G's xtra. I still like Max though for whatever it's worth. Nice motor, right. ;) |
I was in Conn one weekend heading back home to NY. I decided to use the gas card to fill her all the up and I mean all the up. Next thing I know I notice the pump shut itself off. It wouldnt let me pump anymore gas. I get in the car start her up the needle when slightly above F. :D Im flying back to brooklyn. when I reach home the needle was still on F.:D

Well, I've put in just over 16 gallons before. Well, actually I do that pretty regularly (I'm lazy about getting gas, what do ya want me to say). I'm almost posative the 3rd gens have an 18 gallon tank because the gas light comes on with only 3 gallons left. I let it come on, and then I go get gas. It usually goes on, then off, then on, then off over a period of time, which means I'm just on the verge of having only 3 gallons left. I don't like riding with the light on though, it kinda freaks me out and ****es off my mom for being a lard-***.:D
My friends dad has a 95 325i with the digital thingy that sais how many miles he has left with the gas he's got. He's never gotten it into the negatives because the lowest it goes is ---.-- (I've seen it do it). He does that pretty often too. Once it does the ---.--, he'll drive to the mall and back. Then go downtown and back. Then decide it might be a good time to get gas. And as crazy as he may seem, he's never run out of gas. It's a safty feature. They do it so you panic and don't do what he does. Most cars will still run when the digital reader has gone long below 000.00. Doesn't mean they'll run for long, just means they'll still run. |
ive never had to put more than 13 in, i usually fill it when there is a ¼ left
|
car stalled .... rolled it to the station and put 17.5
tank is 18.5 as people said, but over the years shiet accumulates in the tank.. Ant |
