95-96 Max's w/Red/clear tails, Question about blinker light..

Cops will proly rail me if I don't blink amber, but I don't wanna run the clear look with a orange bulb showing through my clear.

Can you see the orange bulb through the clear corner lense ? Any of yall use red ?

And whoever got their red/clears in DavidL's group deal, did you get orange or red blinker bulbs ? I believe we get the orange so thats why I ask :(

Sprint Jan 30, 2002 12:53 PM

#1 he sends them with orange bulbs
#2 do YOU think you can see AMBER bulbs through CLEARS?
#3 my head hurts

clee130 Jan 30, 2002 12:54 PM

I kept the stock clear light in there.

Haven't gotten in trouble yet.

Even used my blinker in front of a cop in front of the station.

I get ya.

Do the cops usually only have beef with stuff that blinks anything besides red/yellowish or orange ?

Clee is your blinker visible ? If it's too dull that will p!ss the po-po's off too.

Depends ... but usually... they usually frown upon making your car look like a rolling X-mas tree... oh wait... that's me.

Nope, can't see the bulb... but the light is very bright.

I used the orange bulbs that came with the tails.

You can't see the bulbs through the lens.

It blinks orange when you signal, so you don't have to worry about cops.

A red bulb will probably look pink when you signal (not sure though)

Why don't you just get those Polarg bulbs that have the silver coating but emit amber light when the blinker is on......or do they only make that for our front turn signal and corner application? :gotme:

just put amber bulbs for your turn signals. what's wrong with amber? and no, you can't see the amber through the clear. if it's not blinking, how could you see it? i don't know why would you think it can be seen. i know i couldn't see my amber bulbs when i had the clear/red tails.

The clear stock blinkers blink alot brighter than the corner blinkers right ? ?

ny96max Jan 30, 2002 05:07 PM

in my clears in the rear i have Amber 1156's, you CANNOT see them through the blinker lense. I tried the "all clear 1156" like Clee has but it draws too much attention, especially with cops. Also in the rear im using Polar-G hyper red bulbs to give the tails a deeper glow at night ;)

I have superwhites in my front blinkers and there really bright at night almost as bright as the heads, but the cops dont care really around here.....:D

My two words. Gray primer. I sprayed gray engine primer on all of my amber bulbs, and now you do not see them under any clear lens. Total cost:3 bucks.:)

How's the light output?

The turn signals are now a slightly darker color amber, but still very visible. All you need to spray is the front half of the bulb. That way, the light out put is relatively unchanged.

maximo1 Jan 31, 2002 05:43 AM

I have the amber bulbs in my clear red combo, and you cannot see the amber through the clear lens. Stick with the amber, keep you out of police harrasment;)

ny96max Jan 31, 2002 11:06 AM

that sounds too ghetto... why not just use the stock clear bulbs 1157/194's??

Craig Mack Jan 31, 2002 01:09 PM

Thank you boys.

Medic, shoulda just left the amber alone brah.

I'm talking about all of the front ones too. They blink yellow but you can't see them(including my clearance lights)
