Hey everybody! New here

Hey everybody, new to the forum! I recently saved my uncle's 69,000 mile, 1997 Maxima from going to scrap! It wasn't passing emissions, and his mechanics were taking his money without fixing the problem...ended up being a P1400 EGR solenoid, which i replaced myself. I got it inspected, plated, and insured, and its been a great 1st car! Its everything i wanted it to be, something older, something that can be worked on, and reliable.

Just wanted to thank the forum as a whole, it's helped answer alot of my questions! I just finished changing the transmission fluid. I drained 3 1/2 quarts, but added about 4 quarts of valvoline Maxlife to get it to show up on the dipstick with the car in park, warm, and running. It used to clunk into gear pretty harsh, the upshifts were hesitant and delayed, and the downshifts were laggy. Now, i barely even notice it shifting its so smooth!

Next is the oil, i have some Mobil1 High-Mileage and a purolator one filter waiting.

It sat for awhile in the elements under a tree, so there's alot of dirt and sap thats hard to get off, but i bought a bunch of clay bar to help get it lookin good again!
