Well, we're officially Maxima-less for the second time . . .

As the third car for this pair of retirees it just wasn't getting driven enough to earn its keep, and had started to cultivate a few electrical gremlins beyond my ability to diagnose. When it finally got to "crank no start" plus "headlights inop", we finally let it go, getting what amounted to low-average trade-in value. Good enough for an almost 20 year old car in non-running condition, I guess, and the lack of hassle made it go easier.

Our 20AE Maxima was only the 5th new car we bought over a period of 30 years and change, and with Nissan having made the Max CVT-only nearly 15 years ago it's almost certainly the last one.

Time to update a few sigs, I guess . . .

oh man !!! i am surprised of the gremlins on that year too, very sad day indeed ! good luck on any new vehicles, or do you plan to just keep the 2 you have now?

Just the two cars, at least for now. I just hope it doesn't trap me into having to buy something that I would never acquire out of full free choice.

We really didn't have many issues with the '01 until it got to be 15 or so years old (tires, a battery or two, the muffler, and an O2 sensor). Even after that, I could fix most of the things that did come up myself (crank sensor, radiator crossmember, alternator, exhaust repairs).
