Argg...Sard FPR's gauge port is not 1/8" NPT

It's the metric 1/8" BSPT. Anyone know a metric 1 1/2" mechanical fuel pressure gauge? I guess I could get an adaptor, but with the adaptor it will stick out more.

Sprint Feb 21, 2002 11:31 AM

i am not even going to endorse a mechanical fuel pressure gauge.. so i am not answering :o

Oh..it's on the FPR itself, so mechanical is fine in the engine bay. I picked up a summit racing gauge for $19.99. The damn adaptor fitting is $10.

this i was not aware of. i'll look into it now.

Is the adaptor readily available or hard to find? I have a Sard coming and want to put gauge on the FPR as well.
Tnx

Sprint Feb 21, 2002 12:55 PM

"adapter"?

Jime Feb 21, 2002 01:01 PM

1/8"NPT to 1/8" BSPT adaptor to you can use a normal NPT Pressure Gauge

DanNY Feb 21, 2002 01:30 PM

the adapter is avail...but he doesn't want it to stick out anymore.

sx7r Feb 21, 2002 01:52 PM

hey tony, i just thought of something. my friend has the sard FPR but he used a gauge off another no name brand fpr. however, he isn't able to screw the gauge in all the way because of the lip on the sard fpr. so in this case i think that the adapter would be better than using no adapter - just to make sure that you get a tight fit. goodridge makes an adapter and so does autometer(p/n 2269). so far, i've found that the B&M gauge(p/n bmm-46054 at summit) supposedly fits the sard, but i don't know if it uses the included adapter to fit or if the gauge is 1/8" BSPT itself and the B&M website offers little help. also, there's a company called SM gauge company that offers a gauge that would fit but they are overseas in Bristol. i could also try to find some more of those gauges off the fprs that my friend is using. i'll let you guys know if i find out anymore.

1/8" NPT will screw in about 2-3 turns worth. That's why I believe it's a 1/8" BSPT. I'll take some pictures. Post them in a few mins.

hmmmmm was any one successful in finding the fitting at like homedepot or like a hardware or auto parts store???

nope, it is BSPT but you are best to hook in with a TEE. You can get an adaptor but probably easier to just tee in.

so put the tee connector in line on the tube that connects to the fitting where the stock fpr was at ????

Yes, just make sure its before the fpr not after. Mine is actually connected just after the filter, where I also have my FPSS, gauge and fuel to the solenoid, so it all in one spot.

If you don't use the FPSS or have a gauge then put it where the stock fpr was.

Don't really matter if its before the injectors or after you should still get the same pressure reading, its all on the same header.

Look you can connect in anywhere after the fuel filter and before the fpr. Just look and follow it through. It goes from the filter to the fuel rail where the injectors are, exits to where to old fpr was, so anywhere you connect in there will give the correct fuel pressure reading.
