Who's Got S-02 or S-03 Potenzas?? Any Comments?

Sup guys. I know Ming had S-02z on his 4th gen and said they only lasted him 7K miles. Anyone had these tires and can share their experience?

On my S4 I got 10K out of my S02 Pole Positions. Sticky as hell, but didn't last long and got noisy towards the end of its life.

I then went to Michelin Pilot Sports which are still on my factory rims.

Now I'm running S03 Pole Positions on my SSR Comps and so far I like them a lot. They're relatively quiet, stick like glue, and hopefully will last longer than my S02's (treadwear 220 vs 180).

I've had my S02's for 10K+ miles. They blow the Potenza's out of the water. You can get them for a good price these days.

I keep reading about all the people with superchargers nowadays. I can only imagine what fun that would've been in my 97 SE, blowing the doors off of unsuspecting folks.

But obviously the S4 is in a different class. The car is still awesome. One day after my warranty expires I'll probably go Stage 4 and replace the stock turbos with bigger ones. 450HP baby! Of course for now I'll just be content with my measly 330HP/380lb-ft :D.

I just bought 17x8 SSR Competitions on 235/45/17 S03s. The S03s might be good sticky tires, but those suckers are heavy! The 17x8 Competitions suppose to be 13.1 lbs each. I weigh the wheel and tire combo, weight is 43lbs! Tell you how heavy those tires are. I think I'm going to send the combo back to Tire Rack and find me some lighter tires.

Interesting. I didn't know they came in 17x8. Mine are 17x8½.

I noticed that my 235/40-17's are a good bit heavier than the crap Sumitomo's that I took off those rims. You might take a look at Michelin Pilot Sports? They also stick pretty good and are lighter than the S03's.

I think all high-end tires are $$$.
