This is why it's important to clean your throttle body + intake manifold (PICS)
If you have heavy mileage on your Maxima (90,000+) you could really benefit from removing and cleaning the throttle body and upper intake manifold. I have not yet removed my upper intake manifold (although I will in the next week or so) however, you can still see the heavy build up of carbon and other crap that's inside. You can clean the throttle body by yourself, as well as the intake manifold, however, if you want your intake manifold cleaned thoroughly you can take it to your local dealer and ask them to clean it in a hot tank (~$75). Sorry for the blurry pictures (it's difficult while you have a mag light under your arm pit, and a throttle body in the other hand) but at lease you get the idea. I will post better pictures of the inside of the intake manifold when it's removed.
