The car is just so peppier during winter. I think the difference you feel with the cold weather is more than what the ypipe provides. I wish I still had my ypipe now. It would be awesome and I would be able to take out a SupraTT.

Around 10hp-15hp.
I can run .3 quicker in 30 deg than 85 deg. days. Originally posted by hokiemax The car is just so peppier during winter. Cold air...
Remember this dynamic when you compare cold air intakes (including the stock arrangement) to those that just put a filter under the hood.

50F is not really that cold. Come up north, right now we are around 20F, but none of the tracks are open =(.
Originally posted by madmax2k I wish I was getting the same result! The coolest Ive run in is about 50F and I ran the same as I was able to muster when it was 90 F! (14.75 versus 14.76). My trap speed didnt even increase much at all (94.63 to 94.8x)! I was quite surprised as I expected he cold weather to help alot more than that. Ive made quite a few runs and havent been able to see any improvement with temp and its irritating! [/I] |
it's definitely more powerful.
in summer, hammer in 1st gear on my M, it spins tires all the way, now days when i do the same, it fishtails left and right. |
Probably 5-7hp between a heat soaked motor in the summer and a cool running motor in the winter. My car feels stronger once the temp dips into the 60s and below. What really ticks me off is I've only been able to run my car in humid and hot 80-95 degree weather. In KC, they close the tracks once the temps falls below 50 degrees. They're a bunch of women if you ask me.

i wish i had your cars.
ever since it got colder, my car has been making alot of noise, the shifter got stiff, the clutch feels funny, it shacks like carzy, and the heat takes forever to kick in but i think thats becasue i'm leaking anti-freeze. i didn't get faster at all. just the other day i tryed to get to top speed, i ony reached 100mph. it was floored but i just couldn't get it up there until i reached the hill, then gravity gave me a boost. that didn't happen in the summer.
and it makes this scary as$ noise when i start it in the morning. it really sounds like its about to blow up. i read the post you guys write and i'm under the impression i have the worst max in america. or is it that you guys don't post the bad things. |
Performance?!?!?! Who cares about that, you also get better MPG's!!!
 Did I get anyone? :D |
