One is fully machined out of a solid piece of 6061 billet aluminum with the NWP logo in raised lettering. This one is $60.00 plus shipping. The quality doesn't get any better than this.
The one that we are offering for sale is machined from a 1/4" sheet of 6061 billet aluminum and the logo is engraved instead of raised. It is then deburred and tumbled to reduce the appearance of machining lines.
Here is a comparison:
Raised logo and fully machined with no machining lines:

Outline engraved from 1/4" sheet stock:

Aaron, what will this do for gas mileage and where will I see the improvement at??? Very interested. Also you said:

So in reality the only difference is raised lettering vs. engraved correct? Same material, same deburring and tumbled on both pieces right? Sorry for all the questions.

The biggest difference between the two plates is one has a raised logo and one has an engraved logo. But, the reason the quality of the raised logo plate is so much better is that it is fully machined out of a large block of aluminum. It is machined on all sides, front, and back. The tolerances do not get any better than this. Then it's tumbled and polished by hand.
With the engraved plate, it is simply cut from 1/4" sheet stock. So it is not machined on the front and back to give it a perfect surface. It's plenty flat enough for it to seal on the manifold with a gasket. But you can see the horizontal lines in the material itself. That is because of the extrusion process when they make the raw sheets. You can see these lines in the picture, which I think, don't look bad at all. Especially after it's tumbled and cleaned up by hand.
Hey thanks for the info Aaron, but I got some more. With me having an automatic, would my mileage increase or decrese with just the plate and would it increase or decrease with the plate and the intake kit combined? Both VIAS plates seal the same correct? I mean the dimensions are identical right?? I don't mind the horizontal lines, I mean it is under the plastic engine cover.

But we have not done any gas mileage testing on just the VIAS Removal. You will lose low end power and gain back plenty of top end power. But the best thing to do is the SSIM. I can't comment on gas mileage changes.
As far as I know, you should not see any noticeable change in gas mileage with the VIAS Removal or SSIM.
And yes, the dimensions are exactly the same. Both plates are perfectly matched to the upper intake manifold and will look VERY clean once installed. One is fully machined with raised lettering and one is cut from 1/4" aluminum with engraved lettering. Same tolerances and same exact dimensions.
keep up the good work aaron, glad to see someone putting interest in our cars. Hopefully when work comes back around I will be getting some parts through you. Be good and thanks again.

Just ordered mine. Decided to go with the raised lettering. May be under the engine cover but if you don't go big, don't go at all right? I'll let you know once I receive it and have pics posted as well hopefully. I plan on putting the intake kit on July 5th so hopefully I can do all of it together.

I'm not sure. I have seen a dyno chart by NmexMAX showing the loss you will get in low end power just by disabling the VIAS. But, the dyno chart didn't show the HP gain in top end when you remove the entire VIAS assembly.

Are these still available to buy?
And do you make an EGR block plate for the 6th gens? I'm doing a 3.5 swap and the engine I got was from a 2005 but I'm going to be using the 02/03 setup so I need to block off the EGR port on the intake manifold.

We do not make an EGR block plate for the 04-08 UIM. It is something we can definitely do for cheap. All I will need is a spare 6th gen UIM, which I do not have at this time.

The value on this product will be noted as $28.95, which shouldn't effect you too much with duties.
Thanks. It's shipping out today.

Hey Arron, ive bought the vq30 spacers off you and sorry this is gonna be an off topic post but I wanted to quote this.
Would you make EGR block off plates for the A32 UIM? I could send you a gasket that you could base the design off of. What do you think the cost would be if you did make some? Using the aluminum sheets would be more than enough, no one would see the piece so it doesnt need to be fancy.
Heres a pic of the gasket to give you an idea:

PM me and let me know.

I have a spare intake manifold sitting right here that I will base my design off of. But you're right, nobody will see this block plate, so there is no reason to engrave the NWP logo into it, which will reduce costs slightly. But please send me an email to discuss this further. It's much easier to chat that way instead of PM.

As far as costs, it's too early to determine. But it will most likely be an entire kit in order to fully eliminate the EGR system and cap off the exhaust manifold as well.
Your order shipped yesterday. I threw in a couple extra stickers for you too.

The plate itself does not provide any kind of HP increase. But, by removing the VIAS assembly and/or doing the SSIM, that is what provides the HP increase. You simply use our block plate for an easy and clean way to cap off your intake manifold.
Instructions on how to remove the VIAS assembly can be found on our website in PDF Format here:
http://www.nwpengineering.com/Phenol...ers.html#VIASB
The installation should take between 15-30 minutes. Please read over the instructions ahead of time to make sure you feel comfortable doing this install.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

They are very tough to keep in stock at the $40.00 price, which is pretty low for such a nice looking block plate.
If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to post or contact me directly.
Thanks.
