Sprints & KYB GR2 installed on Pat's mighty I30T *PICS*

Well first of all it was the smoothest and one of the quickest installs i've ever done - we've got everything done in less than 2 hours. Lift/air tools and wall mounted spring compressor really makes things easy.
The only problem we had was them KYB boots - they fit,but we had to "open"
them up just a bit in order to fit over the shaft of the strut.

other than that it was pure pleasure to "drop" Pats I30T - the car has a very nice stance and those 17'' look good on it.

Pat let me know when you're ready for your y-pipe and bushings install.

Nick you are the man....

Nick has done about a dozen installs, I have participated in 2 as he said the install was quick and easy, I was told that KYB Boots from a Mustang and Miata would fit I had to slit the boots to get them to slide over the strut sleeve. I was apprehensive about putting the sprints on the GR2s of course it has only been only 24 hours.

Mike,
I know how you are feeling. When I sold my BLK/BLK Legend coupe 5spd to a Legend GURU he modded the car and posted pics I felt like I thought, why did I sell such a beautiful car. I am sure the BBS are giving you performance you need they are much lighter.

nycspudz03,
I painted the grill black and left the infiniti emblem silver. I think it looks more aggresive. All the chrome was too luxurious lookin for my taste.

A-Ron Max,
The wheels are ASA KA3 17x7.5

Again Nick, thanks again for all your help and whenever you are ready to do your bushings let me know.

Thanks,
Pat

The kYB boots wil fit GR-2's without cutting. I got mine to go on.. It's not easy but they will slide on with a bit of lubricant.

looks great! That is a nice drop, must be close to mine which is about 1.75" with B&G's. Painting the grill was a nice touch, my '99 already has the grill painted stock. I am getting my new trunk lip spoiler painted this week and will try to post some pics if I can borrow a buddies digicam.

Scotty, you beat me to it....

I was just about to say, I did not know they came painted "stock" When I first painted it I was not fond of it. but it makes it look more agressive and less luxurious. I will be keeping it black and I might look for a chrome grill on ebay just to have one if I change my mind.

So far So good

NO alignment yet. I finally got a chance to open the car up on a straigt away I57 south and the ride is great on the the freeway. Of course the roads are garbage in Chicago with all the pot holes but over all I am very happy. Nick this is the best thing (absolutely No NOISE) even over bumps great job!! I will wait and see what happens over the next six months. THe roads in Georgia are much better and more forgiving. Nick check your post in "Maximas for sale"

Re

Thats good to hear !!! - its got to be a day and night difference in ride especially since your rear driver side shock was completly blown !!!
also replacing those gaskets and strut bearings helps too.

get it aligned and enjoy the ride !!!

and there is no way to convince my Dad into buying car with 120K even though this is such a steal !!!

ahhhhh ...... old fashioned folks....

Nick.
