Renault-Samsung SM5

Has anybody on here ever heard of this? It's another model of the Maxima/I30/Cefiro and is supposedly in Korea. Reason why I'm asking is because I want the Woodgrain Dash Pieces. It has a woodgrain piece for the Defroster/Clock/Hazards, which no kits on the web have along with all of the air vents and also the plastic piece behind the interior door handles. I also like the center console alot more. Very clean and spacious.

Here's some pics:

It should fit, most parts will. Tails do not fit a maxima but should fit hte I30. Hard part is to find someone who sells the interior parts.

The dash pieces and center console look exactly like the ones I have in my 95 Euro-Max which is the same as the US I30. However I don't have "wood" behind the doorhandles. Thinking back to my years in the US, I remember that Maxima and I30 are slightly different in the clock/defroster/hazard area...?

Now I'm curious.... how does yours look? Can U provide picture/link to one?
Buying that thing from a Nissan dealer in Norway and ship it to the US? Sure if you feel like going bankrupt Sales tax alone is 24% over here... probably better off getting it from somewhere in Asia...

If you don't mind, could you take pictures of your center console? Also, if you know anybody or anywhere such as a junkyard where they might have one could you see if they got the Air Vents and Clock Wood pieces and if they have any black consoles as well. I would greatly, greatly appreciate that, especially if you can retrieve them.

PS: As for the wood inserts behind the doorhandles, I can live without them for the time being.

Germany Maxima Dash

American I30 Dash

Germany Maxima Pieces [Individual]

Yes, they are slightly different. The crease along the dash stops at the center console, to where your's goes straight across to the gauges. *shruggs shoulders* Well, as for the Defroster/Clock/Hazard piece I'm sure you could easily cut it straight down where the buttons are and trim a little off the top to make it fit, but that's if you wanna go that route and take a chance.

PS: I'm curious what those 2 pieces in the top left corner are and that little rectangle piece is, right above the Shift ****/Cigarett Lighter piece? If only I could read German. HaHa.

The 2 pieces are for the upper air outlet on each side of the dash next to the A-pillar. The rectangular piece is for the electric mirror adjusting panel... (I read German )

Damnnnnn...so that's what they were! Thanks for clarifying that up for me. How much is 111,00? LoL. I'm actually thinking about ordering it, but the kit doesn't seem like it would match perfectly with the existing wood pieces on the I30. All I'm going to use however, is the pieces you just clarified and the Clock insert with self modifications of course.)

*shruggs shoulers* Not sure yet.

Would I offend anyone if I said that top vent/defroster button/hazard button/clock peice in the I30 looks kind of ugly compared to the peice used in the Maxima?

Not really, cuz I don't think it looks that bad IMO. Yeah, I wish it was covered in woodgrain cuz it would look a hell of a lot nicer and fancier, but it really ain't that serious LoL. So with that being said, to everyone their own. No hard feelings here.

I actually like the vent design of the I30 over the Maxima. To each his own.

MaxMoJo brought the wooden vent/hazard/clock piece in from Taiwan. Turned out it didn't fit whatsoever and I had to get a refund. Don't buy it! And BTW- That german kit is just a cover set (goes over the existing wood/plastic) so it wouldn't be the real thing -- You may as well get it custom from some companies on ebay with all the pieces specific to yours in a different wood color).

Good idea. I'm gonna go and try to find a specialist or company that would do it for me, but if you happen to know anybody off the top of your head that would be greatly appreciated as well. Thanks.

This guy has a wood trim for sale on ebay, looks like it's for an automatic ... also looks like factory color:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33705

Search ebay for "nissan maxima wood trim kit" in titles+description. There's a ton of places that make a 95-99 kit for a Maxima. I'm sure a few of them may do Infiniti I30's aswell, send them an email. Prices are usually around 90-110...

Okay, little rundown/recap:

The vent pics way up above would fit the maxima (US Spec) but not the I30. The exterior parts SUPPOSEDLY fit the I30 (US Spec) but not the maxima (US Spec).

The center console is a direct bolt-in, BUT it looks to me like the center console LID is all that it really an upgrade for those of us with 97-99 maximas or 98-99 I30s. For people with 95-96 maximas or 96-97 I30s, the center console woudl be a full upgrade (better cupholders and the new lid design).

That being said, there is a whole thread in the 4th gen forum about finding a source to import these parts. What we MIGHT want to do is just order a console lid. 99% chance it fits ONE of the US Spec designs. I woudl be the test-dummy. Can any of you out-of-US guys check on the price of the LID only? Also, can you measure your lid (in millimeters, for accuracy) and especially measure the width of the hinge as well as its distance from the sides of the lid.

Lastly, a measurement from the FRONT of the hinge to the latch at the front. This will let us know how long the lid is, and from there I can tell you if it will fit the early or late model center console body.

Thanks!

Hey phenryiv1, do you know if the console lid slides forward and back? I remember Sycefiro could import one of those whole center consoles with a lid that slides forward to give you a better armrest ... However he said I'd need to change the whole console .... I didn't have any cash at the time so I passed. I wonder if that's the same console? Anyone know if the lid moves forward/back?

If you look at the latch mechanism it does not look like there is any way that it could slide. I do not see any sliders, and with the latch in that fixed position in the front it seems to be a pretty "fixed" assembly.

Don't need the whole center consoles.. just the armrest..
Yes, the Cefiro Armrest does slide forward & can be positioned for more comfortable driving. It also has dual console (one layer on top for credit cards or receipts or cellphone -thin layer/ one layer on the bottome- your usual storage).

However, these will only fit the 96-97 I30 center console... or 95-96 Maxima console. I can get them.. in Black or Tan (the tan doesn't match.. )
