thanks a bunch... just what exactly does the offset do..? cuase whats the diff between 35 off set and .. say 32

The higher the number (i.e. +35mm), the further in (towards the center of the car) the wheel will sit.

The lower the number (i.e. +32mm), the further OUT the wheel will sit.

So what is the stock offset on 96-99? It would have to be pretty high because my stock rims sit IN way too much?

Isnt there some spacers or something that can help bring the wheel out more?

Yup, I got some 15mm H&R spacers for the rear and love them. I dont know where I ordered them from, but you can just do a search for Maxima H&R spacers.

BTW, the H&R's are hubcentric (good because you dont want the studs supporting all the weight). They also come with the required longer studs.

It's a really nice kit.

Stock offset is 40mm or 45mm depending on what factory rims you have. It takes alot lower off set to get our wheels flush, especially in the rear. I went 20mm further out and my rear is still inset but the front is flush. Rember also that going to a wider rim is like changin the offset as well. Ex: stock rims 6" wide 40mm offset. New rims 7" wide 35mm offset. Your new rims will be a total of the one inch wider dimaeter divided by 2 = 12.5mm. And then the 5mm difference in the offset. A total of 17.5mm.....which will still have your rears inset.

I got some new Motegei DP6 17'' rims a couple months ago, but I have not put new rubber on them yet, so since they are 7'' wide with a 42mm offset, they will stick out 10.5mm (1/2'') more than my stock wheels, right?

If I add the 15mm spacers, they would then stick out 25.5mm (1'') more. That set up looks like it would make the rear near flush, but the front wheels out by 8mm too far.

I don't really know how to get this thing perfect.

28mm will be ok in the front...will be a little past flush. Why go with 15mm in the front and rear. Just do 5mm in the front and 15mm or 20mm in the rear. That would be perfect

Hmmm... I was not aware that there were a variety of different spacers. I think I will go with 5mm spacers in the front and 15mm or 20mm in the rear then!
