Is this supposed to be left unattached? I'm pretty sure it doesn't go into the extra opening you see in the intake, which i already covered with electrical tape on the inside.

Yes, it came that way from the factory. It has nothing to do with your intake

I seem to remember someone asking about this a while back, and I think it's like that from the factory.

Like I said, I think we decided it was a tranny breather hose.

No, it is not the PCV valve

But yhea, tape on the inside of the mid-pipe will just come off and get sucked into the motor. I don't think it would do any harm though. It would just get melted in the combustion.

Go to Home Depot or a place like that and get a little rubber cap to put over the nipple. I have a bunch of them

umm, no, it didn't yet since i haven't taken the car out yet, which is a good thing... i temporarily "fixed" it by applying tape on the outside instead =\. this is the first thing i've done to my car myself other than fogs, guess it didn't go too well...

A few HP, but no it is not worth it. Some nitrous and boosted guys take them off at the track. But just a basic bolt on car is not gonna see too much difference

The large plastic piping that originally directed air form the front of the car to the filter box.
