Stereo Install / I30 Dash Kit
Finally got around to installing the new dash panel and stereo.
System consists of an Alpine CDA-7995 Tuner/CD Player, Boston Pro 6.5" 2 ways in the front and rear doors, Fosgate 1 fared cap, Two PPI Powerclass 2600 amps, and an Alpine Type R 10" DVC sub. Also in the system is the XM MyFi but I am still getting a lot of alternator noise so I need to rewire that part again.
Here are some pics. The trunk install is temporary until I figure out a better way to mount the amps and build a box for the sub right behind the seats.

I heard that the speakers may be individually wired and that if i wanted to put in and aftermarket subs or stereo it would be a pain in the *s*. Is that true? and where could i get that stereo harness? anyone can email me cptsoco04@hotmail.com i am a first time customizer and could use all the help i can get.

Not true. PAC AOEM-NIS2 plug and play adapter will give you RCA outputs to add an amp , subs, speakers, etc. PAC ROEM-NIS2 will allow you to change the head unit and still use the bose speakers and amps.
Shameless plug: I have an AOEM-NIS2 that I'm no longer using (replaced my head unit) that I'll sell for $45 including shipping.

Nice setup.
I just had an Alpine head unit, JL Audio W3 12, JL Audio 250w amp, and all installed today. Because of the factory Bose equipment, I had to buy an interface adapter which they call a XR4 adapter. It was about $80 but was well worth it.

Yes, I did the install myself. I plan on redoing the trunk set up someday. Takes up to much room.
The sub is decent for what it is. I have too much power for it and have to be really careful.

hey has naybody experienced there interior and dash lights go out when u turn ur head light on after instaling a aftermarket stereo if so i need help on how to fix i checked my fuses and they are good all wires are connected good wut do i do need help a.s.a.p

Just joined here, but this thread is kinda important.
I went to my aduio install guy and he said I couldn't replace the factory radio because getting a dash kit would be impossible. Can someone give me more info on if this is true or not? He said they don't make a plastic housing for aftermarket decks-but clearly that is mistaken. Does this "SYCEFIRO" fabricate them himself, or can I buy them from elsewhere?

The kit is a tad darker. Truthfully though, unless you hold the kit right next to the other pieces of wood in the car you, nor anyone else will ever notice the difference. Especially since the sun is usually shining on the kit through the windshield - makes it appear lighter.

The dash plate is very nice and a good way to go for an easy installation of an after market headunit.

I've got the actual dash trim kit from Sycefiro, It looks great, but if I'm putting a 1 din head unit in my car I'm still missing the shelfing, anyone have any idea exactly what fits the 2001 I30??? I've been searching forever, any info would be great guys, thanks

Any standard single din pocket will work. You have a double-din opening, one din filled with the stereo, and one to be filled with the pocket. The "DIN" is standard sized, so any should work. I just bought a generic one at Circuit City when I had the single din in my dash. I now use a double-din screen so I took it out.

Can I use one of these adapters to run just an amp and subs off the bose HU? I want to keep the indash Cd changer, but the Pioneer deck I have is single. Is it possible to add an AMP and subs and still use the BOSE HU and speakers-or do I have to replace the HU also?

The adapter he refers to in the post above relates to the mounting pieces for the DIN pocket for various makes, not for adapting to the Bose amps, etc.
Now, if you want to use the Bose HU, but add amps, subs, etc., just find the AOEM-NIS2 that you PM'd me earlier about buying.

No modifications were needed for mine except trimming of the trim plate around the head unit. A double din unit should fit well with no gaps at all.
