PAC adapter doesn't work
hey guys i have a problem. i used the PAC adapter, the ROEM-NIS2. for some reason the aftermarket heaunit will not turn on. i took it to the authorised kenwood dealer in town and they tested it and it powered up just fine. put it back in the car and it won't turn on. any idea's on the prob?

Seems like a bad time for PAC adapters. I'm using a ROEM-NIS2 right now with my Kenwood DDX7015. I didn't do anything special to hook it up, but it works just fine.

hey king, did you wire the power wire or the PAC??? i've done like 25 systems and was working on my car. I know i had everything hooked up right. so then i called them up n asked, and the guy goes...ok...did you have the power wire hooked up? n i went, there's a power wire?? he goes look closely, that wire needs to be attached and then everything else worked fine. There is another power wire that needs to be hooked up, i know you hooked up the power wire directly to the head unit, but there's another one just for the PAC itself.. hope that helps

You do not have to use the PAC if your deck has pre-amp outs. Just run the low volt pre-amp signals into the speaker wires and it sounds great. The PAC will take an amplified signal from the deck resist it, and then have the signal amped again at the speaker amp. Less distortion using your pre-amp outs.
