headlight removal I35

What a nightmare. I bought a set of those D2R 9k HID bulbs to install in my 03 I35 in the groupbuy section. I thought it would be easy to just put them in--but I am having no luck.

I tried to take out those tiny phillips screws that hold in the bulb, but can't get behind there-no room. I figured I would just remove the headlight---no luck there either. I took out the 2 bolts and tried to pull as hard as I can and it won't come out. I pulled so hard, the car was rocking. Is there an easier way to take these out, or do I just need to pull harder?

Thanks for any tips or hints.

There is a bolt hidden underneath the headlight. Remove the fog light, then look up at the headlight frorm underneath. You'll see a 10mm bolt mounted sideways innto the headlight housing. Use a crescent wrench, or a mini-wrench.

I finally got the foglight out on the drivers side---that was a chore in itself! I don't see the bolt looking up from the bottom, is there a certain place I can feel for it--is it towards the fender? Did you remove it from the bottom of the car?

Easiest way is to just lay down on the ground and look up. It is to the right of the ballast on the driver's side, and left on the passenger.

and once you get the 3 bolts out pull the headlight straight out (towards the front of the car) there is one clip that that holds the headlight as well then you have to kind of jimmy the light around to get it out the ballist gets in the way

Arn't the 9k HID bulbs a little dark? I was told its like driving around with blackout covers...

I'll post pics as soon as I get this done. I lost patience last 2 times I tried this and haven't had a chance to try again.
