How do you make the analog clock brighter??

I have been wondering this since I bought my 2000 I30.

At night, with the headlights on, the analog clock is too dim when I adjust the dash lights down. I like the gauges dim when I drive at night but would like the clock much brighter.

Any way to make the clock bright, at night, while keeping the gauges dim???

I'd suggest looking up the bulb number for that specific bulb, and then searching for aftermarket replacements, such as Sylvania.

Other than that, I don't know.

Hey GT,

I am planning on doing the same thing but when I tried some LEDs, they burned out as I was getting a funky smell from them. How did you connect resistors to the circuit? Or where did you get your LEDs from and what were their ratings?

Thanks,

Ahhh....Solved the problem! After 6 years of not seeing the clock well when the dash lights were turned down, I took the LED suggestion and changed the bulbs in the clock to white LEDs:

Now the clock is always clear and visable, no matter how dim the dash lights are set! Simple pleasures....

Thanks!
