Suspension/Axle probems . . . . . .
Howdy folks,
Good news is . . I just replaced the shocks/struts on my 2k I30. It solved my wheel rattling problem. The ride is extremely stiff right now and I am glad that chapter is done with. However, I noticed that when I took my car to test drive post shock/strut installation. The front end would hummm as I increased in speed. It at the point where it is unbearable. If anyone has any experience or suggestion what this may be . . .I'd greatly appreciate it. --Chester |
sounds like you need Wheel bearings...

Also,
Before I replaced the shocks/struts . . I thought the problem on my car was the wheel bearings. I jacked the car up and 9/12 clock spots . . and shook it. There was no "play" or looseness. |
might seem like a stupid question but did you get an alignment after your install?
|
^^That's not a stupid question at all, was about to ask the same thing.....

Hip Hip Hooray . . . . . Problem solved and my I30 drives like a cloud now . . . *crossing fingers* I had the shocks/struts replaced which solved the wheel rattling problem. Afterwards, I'd hear a horrendous humming from the front right wheel that increased as the car sped up. I had the right wheel bearing replaced and saw that the wheel bearings warped a section of the bearing's casing. Had it replaced and now all is well so far!!
