It wasnt plug and play for me on my 01 I30. The wires have to be cut and the bulb cover has to be modified. Do a search there are instructions on this site.

yeah, maybe the kits are plug n play now, but when i did it the only way was to cut wires and modify the light housing.

here's a thread discussing what i mean: http://forums.maxima.org/infiniti-i3...-into-a33.html

Just keep them as spare lights. Same with bulbs for headlights

They're alright, they do a mediocre job and are weaker than your "regular" fog light bulb id say about by 20%. I mean Id say they are YELLOW but don't have the strong yellow output that HIDs have because they're so weak - can't see it in my Sig now can ya?

So I have a little input about this conversion. I have a 2000 I30 and I recently bought a 6000k Slim HID kit from HID Extra. I had installed them with the factory harness and had a terrible time getting them to work consistently. So after letting it be for a few days I decided to give it another shot... I took everything out again and started from scratch.

- I drilled 2 holes in each of the fog light sealing caps (big enough to fit the hid bulb wires through).

- Then I cut the wires from the HID bulb In half and fed them through the holes and soldered them back together.

- Then from the factory wiring harness I soldered those ends to the HID harness as well.

It was very simple and only took a little more work than using the butt connectors and factory fog light cap wiring clip. When I would turn on the fogs the harness that attaches to the fog light would actually make a buzzing noise due to excessive power running through it. It smelled like burning plastic and everything.

**My next thing will be to add in a HID relay harness to my headlight HID's as well as for the fog lights. My drivers side headlight tends to work intermittently when I start the car and the only way to turn it on is if I pop the hood and unplug and reconnect the harness from the ballast. (very annoying when its cold out)
