Was planned. I did it 6 years ago. When I did it I planned it out 1 year advance, spent 6 months getting the parts. Got new, 20th AE tranny from dealership, 1800 bux. New bolts, centerforce dual friction clutch, chromoly flywheel, b&m shifter, manual motor mounts, ebrake and cable for maxima and 20AE pedals. Got used shift linkage, clutch pedal, brake pedal and manual ecu. I had the ebrake mount custom made. I designed a custom block to match the height of the maxima ebrake and had it cnc made then drilled 4 bolts to the chassis to mount. The blocks were tapped for standard nissan metric bolts. Using amsoil gl-4. Have put 100,000+ miles on and still on original clutch. One thing though, ur immobilizer is keyed in the ecm. I ran on auto ecm to dealer then when programmed, its $125 flash or key, so I made them do latest flash for the ecm and 17 BTDC advance timing from consult with the key program. She's a champ. I have 215,000 miles and idles like a brand new car and I still rape anyone who thinks its just an infiniti i30 ...

Nice Work! What did you do for the shifter trim? And you cut a hole in original console for the ebrake?

Yea, dremel the center console for the ebrake. The shifter is the same automatic opening. With the B&M shifter, it does not touch the trim. I just bought a shift boot and glued it to the bottom of the trim. I also did not install a clutch switch. I instead wired the neutral/reverse so that if the car is in a position outside of neutral, the car will not turn over.

You sure know your I30's. Yes its a 96. The headlights are plastic thought they are not glass. He will clean and buff it out soon...

Right now I told him to focus on doing some maintenance. We just finished installing new valve cover gaskets, cleaned egr, TB, etc and filling the torque mounts with 3M window weld. BIG difference in acceleration and the engine isn't flopping around anymore.
Next he wants some lowering springs and new shocks and that is about all it needs. With 200k the car still runs like a champ and the previous owner had really good maintenance records and used oem parts (for the most part).

Yes polish those headlights and possibly retrofit with 98-99 headlights or cefiro headlights. Only maxima 95-96 had the glass headlights not the I30.

Interesting...OK.

How did u black out your grill but leave the infiniti logo all chrome and shiny? That's a cool look.

When you take out the grille. you can take out the emblem from the grille and spray the grille only, simple. Retrofitting is a good way to go for safety on the road for lights.

I tried that and was worried that once I took the emblem off, it'll never go back on and stick for good.

That happened to me but you can probably get some removable tape or something that you can use. the first time i painted the grille, I used duplicolor and the emblem didn't stay, but after plasti dip it stuck fine.

Hey what are the measurements of your wheels, they look great on the car and where did you get the entire headlight assembly?

Wheel specs are 18x8 et 20 front, 18x9 et 22 rear. The rear fenders are rolled and the fronts are rolled and pulled. Also running over a degree of negative camber up front.

Edit -

The headlights were bought off of a member here but they're whatever is on ebay.

Quick question- is there anywhere else to get clear side marker lights for our cars other than Klearz? I've checked ebay,
Klearz price seems kinda outrageous to me, ha

Thanks!

Klearz is the only one with a current stock. The company that used to make them, Paradox, went out of business so for their side markers it's either waiting on eBay for a random set or seeing if a set comes up in the Classifieds. The Klearz are a bit pricey, especially compared to the amount you can find for a 5th gen Maxima, but they were the only ones around and I prefer how they are the textured lens rather than the clear one on the Paradox sets. And it is an Infiniti after all so sometimes you have to pay to play haha

Got my '96 i30 back in December with 148 on it, now she has around 153. Recently just changed the rear valve cover gasket, lower control arms, and changed from hids to oem halogens (bad decision). Only real "mods" I've done was put in an JVC bluetooth deck and a kicker l5. I'm planning on buying some cefiro one-piece headlights and lowering it on springs and maybe KYB struts. Might also paint it.

The day I picked her up

yea it is a different shade i got it painted over by a shi**y shop, but i plan on getting the whole car painted over in 2015(same color) and about my wheels the rear does rub a lil I'm running 245/45/18 w/o spacers. Im changing to 235/40/18 all around next year.

cool man, keep me posted as I might be doing G35 wheels on my ride with most likely a drop so would be nice to know which setup of tires wont rub
