A33 Clear Corner/Side Marker Lenses by Klearz

So since Paradox Systems shut down, there really hasn't been any other place for clear side markers on the A33 I30/I35. I had searched plenty of times on eBay and local craigslist ads but nothing ever showed up. Another thread is buried with the first post Klearz made about selling clear lenses. The guy in charge is Jason and he always gave me a prompt response answering my questions perfectly whenever I e-mailed him. Since I got them today I decided to get them on ASAP.

Getting them out of the bumper isn't horrible, just use a pry tool on the top edge and pull down. Then they come out. You could also use a screwdriver (I didn't), but they could make a mark on the paint when the yellow pry tools I use haven't made a mark on anything I've used them on.

And just a comparison with a clear and amber side marker side by side.

Once out, you turn the back housing with the wire going to it for bulb power to get the corner light completely disconnected from the car. Then there are two things you have to take off the old corner light: the black gasket and the clips that hold them in the bumper. The gasket simply pulls off. The clips took a little longer. You have to stick a very small, slim screwdriver/pick-like tool in there to bend back a little subclip that sits in a hold molded into the plastic. Then the clip can slide off and you just have to bend the subclip back far enough that it won't slide out and hold in the bumper. This must be done for all 4 clips amongst the two side markers. In the picture, the subclip is in the space between the entire clip and the plastic.

Now that everything is back together, you may need a new bulb. On the stock corner lights, the amber color was from the lens in front of a white T10 light bulb. To replace this since amber is required in NJ, I got, and am a huge supporter of, LED bulbs. Looking in the daylight they don't appear to be super bright, but I will see when it gets darker outside. LEDs come in all colors, but check with your local laws if anything other than amber side markers is allowed.

Once you have the new bulbs in, just twist the piece holding the bulb back into the corner light housing. Then push the light housing back into the bumper. When doing this, make sure the clips are pushed towards the housing, not out
since this will cause them to not secure properly into the cutout in the bumper and can cause them to fall out when you hit a bump.

And then you got rid of those old amber side markers with nice white ones!

Yes, the gasket is black so you may want to paint it a different color (in my case white) but I don't see it as a huge priority since it was always that way. Klearz also makes them in different color lenses and housings, just take a look on his site! As a maxima.org member, he gave $10 off for a total of $86 for the clear lens/white housing option. Hope this post helps anyone that has been yearning to get clear side markers since Paradox shut down.

Looks real good on the white! Nice Job! Leave the gasket black.

Yea I don't really know why I put that in. I'll leave it black; guess just if anyone else didn't want the black if they get the side markers too.
