I Keep Blowing A Fuse When Installing LED's

Alright everyone, I need help. I own a 2003 Infiniti I35 and I am pretty new to LED's but did a little research before buying them. I am in the process of swapping out all of my halogen bulbs and replacing them with LED's. Every time I go to replace my two map lights, it keeps sparking and blowing a fuse. When the fuse is blown, I cant move my car out of the gear it is currently in. Also, when this fuse is blown, my dome light shuts completely off and won't turn back on. My courtesy lights go really, really dim. I don't understand what I am doing wrong. Does it have to do anything with too much voltage? I bought all of these light bulbs from Super Bright LED's. Here's what I have replaced so far:

Dome light (1)- https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...toon/238/1129/

Trunk (1)- https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...wer/1563/3624/

License plate (2)- https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...wer/1728/4112/

Clock (2)- https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...l-led/220/986/

Then I tried to install these in my map light: https://www.superbrightleds.com/more...ed-tower/9/67/

Am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you guys!

The map light sockets are wired in reverse of most sockets. While most sockets have the positive contact at the bottom of the socket and the side walls are negative, Nissan has the bottom negative and the side walls positive.

Being that there is little room to work in, it is very easy to touch the side of the socket to some other ground and blow the fuse. Then we have to thank Nissan for making the socket out of cheap, soft metal. This makes it easy to bend the socket out of shape, creating a short.

^^ what Dennis said.

The MAP is reversed from the "normal", so you need to get a different one, one that has only the BA9 base, and a panel will be best. The panel connector and the base connector can be swapped, so the positive from the base goes into the negative on the panel and vice versa. This will make the map work.

I can send you a panel for each of your map lights that is pre-wired if you want, 25 bucks shipped... just remember what Dennis said about the flimsy metal, and shorting the circuitry out and blowing the fuse :nono:

Thank you, Dennis and Amerikaner83! Amerikaner83, all I would need is those panels that you have shown and it's as simple as that? No extra wiring or anything? And how do I get a link to your store? I just don't want halogen map lights while everything else is LED's lol.

that's correct...and the link is in my sig but I"ll post it here too:

I don't do ebay store or anything, just here on the org.

I can also do blue if you want, instead.

My I30 didn't blow the fuse, just the bulb wouldn't light up. Ended up popping out the map light/sunroof control and the wires going to the map light socket were exposed right there so they were cut and reconnected with the opposite ones.

I am going to install all LEDs in Saturday from halogen. I will have to see if I have the same problem.. All interior exterior and reverse

All finished went all around the car. All interior from precision led 30$ and very nice. And reverse, license plate, side markers, trunk and city lights. Blew 2 10 amp fuses (wasn't thinking) kept the lights on when replacing them so either remove the fuse before installing or turn off the lights and won't happen.
