foglights and headlights

Both of my fog light lenses have holes in them from rocks/gravel. I see that Nissan is still very proud of their OEM len$e$ - but once installed those new pieces of jewelry would still be just as exposed to road hazards as the broken fog lights I have now. Is there some kind of clear impact-resistant "film" or similar that can be applied to increase fog light longevity? Is there a cost-effective aftermarket fog light lens that fits without modifications?

Forum posts re: Cefiro/JDM headlights are stale, and its difficult to not feel like I'm missing something re: lost knowledge from years ago.

I have shiny new OEM front turn signals and hazed-over OEM headlights.

Each front turn signal was replaced after separate unfortunate signal-immovable object interfaces, and they both seem to only be halfway-secured, at their top portions only, i.e. it's possible to "pry" the bottom of each turn signal loose from its opening while it's still secured at the top of the signal. "What's up with that?"

One piece headlights/turn signals probably don't have that problem and I'd appreciate help finding the right set. I'd rather have a genuine JDM part than aftermarket, would spring for new rather than used if they're still available - and I definitely don't want any Maxima honk to say I've got cheap headlights.

These would all be incandescent to begin with, correct? I am confused about the different retrofit routes (xenon vs HID vs ???), don't know whether retrofitting is really required or not, and as a result don't know what my best headlight choice would be.

These "JDM Nissan Cifero A32" headlights are $300 with $150 delivery (expensive!):

"Black Rimmed" from jdmautolights: $265.50

"Smoked" from jdmautolights: $188.10 ("Brand new in box with H4 harness" and "This is an Japanese/Asian OEM part for the Asian Cefiro" - is this 100% accurate? it looks different than what's on eBay):

I've got email into jdmautolights re: are they still in business...

OEM > aftermarket when it comes to Cefiros. They are all halogen and would require a projector retrofit to do it the right way if you'd like to upgrade to HIDs. If serious, shoot me a PM. I could likely find you a more affordable set as well as provide retrofitting service for you.

Thank you ChrisMan287.

I am really interested in obtaining just the OEM parts with "regular" haolgen bulbs.

I'm still not sure of all the vocabulary (like whether "HID" always equals "Projector") and whether they're all "Xenon" or whatnot but I do know it's all "expensive".

Do you know of some common failure on the underside rear of the US factory turn signals (or the body mounting points at those locations) that cause the turn signals to just kind of hang in their cavity (instead of being squarely secured in them)?

Do you know of some sort of clear rock-shield application for the fog lights?

I received naught from info@jdmautolights.com. Their website has pretty pictures but no phone number and they're not here like chrisman287 is...

This is the type of thing I'd have to put over new foglamp lenses:

Page BT-7 Figure D illustrates what I'm talking about re: the tun signals are only attached with a single bolt through the top of the core support. As a result it's possible to actually pry turn signal out from its bottom edges.

How could that possibly be an acceptable factory design? What am I missing - what's supposed to retain the turn signal in its home?

Page BT-5 describes Front End disassembly and removing turn signals is Step 3 - there is no way the components described in Steps 1 & 2 are what's supposed to hold the turn signals in place.

Today for the first time I observed the "screw in" (Phillips head) male portion of the "ball socket" on the back black plastic of each turn signal, and also how it is supposed to snap in to the white female portion of the socket that's screwed into the headlamp recess/housing.

These were the "missing pieces" whose absence were preventing the turn signals from staying put. One side wasn't snapped into its socket - and the other side's ball was still in the socket, having broken off of the threaded tower on the turn signal it was threaded into. The latter probably happened as a result of the white nylon body nut that receives the screw on top having disintegrated into almost nothing.

I've repaired the turn signal/ball with plasticweld and replaced the nylon nut with Dorman 452810BP.
