I30 and Maxima Gauge cluster interchangeable? 2000-2001 GLE

Does anyone know whether i30 gauges can go into the Maxima without much issues? I notice the i30 have the needles which could solve my problem. The red needles on the Maxima are barely visible for me. The white ones in the i30 would seem to solve the problem.

Easiest would be if I could replace the faces and needles as a unit if that's how they work. Hopefully, I would not need to worry about calibration or odometer .

Second option is if the needles were interchangeable, I could swap the needles and deal with the recalibration.

Any info would be appreciated. I'd hate to have to buy two different clusters just to test this option . Info includes access to i30 counterpart to the maxima FSM pages on the pins for the cluster .

I remembered a post from several years ago where someone put an Infiniti cluster in a Maxima. He said it worked fine but he had an Illumination problem. The Infiniti cluster uses something like a long, skinny fluorescent tube to backlight the gauges, where the Maxima uses light bulbs. I'm not sure what he did to fix his problem, it kind of sounded like something got jarred out of place. He never specifically said what it was.

I don't know if any year i30 will swap into a Maxima. Maybe the i35 cluster will, maybe it won't, you would have to compare the wire connections.

Also be advised that the mileage that the car has is stored in the cluster, so when you swap a cluster, the odometer will read whatever mileage the donor car had. This can cause problems when you go to sell a car where the mileage that shows is less than actual, unless you tell the buyer about it.

Anyway, here is a link to that swap I mentioned.

Someone did do a swap, and was kind enough to put together a chart of how to rewire the plugs. I'm hoping to avoid that. Based on the FSM diagrams, the faces do separate from the odometer portion. If that is indeed how it works, I will like to try to just replace the faces with the needles attached. I hope that will avoid the need to recalibrate the needles. I am waiting for different color bulbs from superbrightled. I'll see if that works for me. If not, I'll order a couple of inexpensive clusters and tear down and see how it works then.

Lastly, the most ghetto way I would have to do is to get some white adhesive backed labels and tape enough of the inner dials white so I can find the needle in the dark.
