Door Lock Actuator Gone Bad?

Hello everyone,

My door locks are not unlocking properly from my key fob and one of the locks is physically jamming. Local repair guy diagnosed the problem as faulty door lock actuators and is charging me $125 to replace each one. Is this an easy DIY?

Sometimes you can lubricate the mechanism and it will be fine. Remove the door trim panel and get in there and spray some WD40 on it to free it up and then lubricate. WD40 IS NOT an oil, it is chemicals that evaporate so you must oil separately.

If lubricating doesn't work, thn replacing the actuator will be needed. This is kind of a pita job as it is in tight quarters because of the window guide. If you are not a good diy'er on car interiors, you may not want to tackle this.

I have never attempted anything like this before but $125 per actuator seemed kind of steep
