Poowill's Winter Pics New Volks! (56k, go grab a snack)

Here are the 18" Volk Racing GT-N's i just bought. I couldn't wait till spring to put them on, so in the meantime of swapping wheels out, it starts to snow! But i was careful and got some pics before i swap them back out this weekend. I'll have some new pics up in the springtime (The car is really dirty in these pics). Let me know what you think and what my next mod should be (i'm thinking lip kit).

Your car looks gorgeous in those pictures! The D70 is a very capable, more so than my 300d. It's not the camera that matters. Its the person behind the camera that is important. Looking good so far. Practice makes perfect. The 1st and 3rd shots are the correct white balance. They look best IMO.

VIP Maxima Dec 15, 2005 12:47 AM

yeah i know it! Anyone want to donate a lip kit and BBK for a good causer? c'mon, you know you want to. :wall:
A33 was a jerk and didn't just *give* me his bbk when he shipped the wheels! haha, j/k.

You guys with stillen lip kits...how much did it cost total to get the kit painted? Now that i look the kits is expensive! Plus you gotta pay to paint it. So i was just curious to how much that is.

I'm on ground control coilovers and AGX struts. I also have a stillen camber kit. I thought i had the front pretty much all the way down, but now that i look at the pictures it looks like the back is a little lower than the front. What's weird is, with the new 18's and bridgestone potenzas, the ride seems better than when i had the 16's on. Ofcourse that was with kuhmo 711 and goodyear RSA's.

Thanks for the comments guys! Makes the hardwork to get them even more worth it!

chris'smax Dec 15, 2005 07:17 AM

man i hate you :D , i'm still waiting on my GT-N's to come in. Been waiting for almost three months now.

Anyways car looks great

kingofsorrow Dec 15, 2005 10:46 AM

A33 VQ30DEK Dec 15, 2005 11:47 AM

Dude big brakes and lip kit would set it off nice.

Royal_T Dec 15, 2005 12:50 PM

Looks really good, I like them in gold.

Also where could i pick up a Nikon D70 for a good price?

Nissan 6 Dec 15, 2005 12:59 PM

ahh Poowill you got the volks! they look amazing :drool1:

Jason R Dec 15, 2005 02:27 PM

damnit. he pm'ed about selling those GT-Ns like a week after I bought my new wheels. wish i would've waited now for some 18s. they look soooooo good.

Poowill Dec 15, 2005 03:29 PM

Thanks guys

I've got a few cons about doing lip kit or bbk. Both which involved living in freaking South Dakota!!

If i were to get a bbk kit, i would not have a set of rims to swap out in the winter because stock ones obviously woudln't fit. So that's kinda hard to work around..

If i were to get a kit, again South Dakota roads aren't the best. I've heard stories of the kits not lasting very long. And if i'm going to spend 700-900 to get a kit and get it painted, i want it to last. Anyone with stillen kit have problems with it getting beat up on the road?

Or....solution: Get a beater car to drive in the winter! Problem solved! heh.

man i live in louisiana and our roads are horrible. My front lip sitts like 3 1/2 " off the ground and my lip is still in excellent shape. I have a few paint scratches underneath but they are not visible. The lip itself is extremely tuff. If you get a quality painter to paint it the paint bonds to lipp pretty good and is suprisingly pretty scratch resistant

slayera7x Dec 15, 2005 03:57 PM

Looks good like the rims

sean05 Dec 15, 2005 05:05 PM

Too bad we don't have the Group Deal for front lip for 160$ a while back, man that was a steal.

haha, i can't stop looking at them either! lol. I'll post some daytime pics tomorrow if i can. It gets dark so fast though! Then after some good pics, that should hold me off untill i'll put them back on in the spring.

Fr33way™ Dec 15, 2005 11:42 PM

Totally changes the look of the car.

Are they 18x8's? The stance looks really nice.

A33 VQ30DEK Dec 16, 2005 02:10 AM

you know what you could do if you get big brakes. Just get the stock G35 wheels. They clear the 300zx BBK with no problem.

Humm..that could work too.

Fr33way: They are 18X8 with 37mm offset. The Offset is PERFECT. The front is flush and the back looks good as well.

Northern Maxima Dec 16, 2005 02:07 PM

Wow, those rims look amazing! Nice pics too. Its either a new camera or rims for me but I'm leaning towards rims...after a drop of course.

Urbanracer Dec 16, 2005 04:14 PM

Nice looking car, might want to photoshop your licence plates on the car in your pics before posting ;) nice plate too.

Too lazy... :hat: :rolling_e haha

I'm going to take some daytime pics tomorrow, with the car all cleaned. Its going to be a whopping like 32 degrees! Woot! Then its time to put the volks on hold till spring. Some dumbass lady almost hit me today, and my windshield cracked for no reason. Just popped cause of the cold. WTF? So i figure i better not take my chances with the wheels.

MaxRolla Dec 17, 2005 10:22 AM

its lookin fresh man. next mayb a CF lip kit? or stillens? up ta u

Bridgestone Potenza RE 750 235/40/18 in front. Falken 512's on back. I will be getting another pair of bridgestones in the spring. I love the bridgestones though, actually a very smooth riding tire.

|Bijan| Dec 18, 2005 11:56 AM

Poowill Dec 20, 2005 08:48 AM

Woot! Its sunny today and like 30! I guess i better get the car washed...and take some daytime pics :). I'll post them later today or tomorrow.
