Meh I'm not going to address that until it is readily available and driven for real. Either way I wish bmw would make a car like the e30 m3. A light, nimble car with a 4 banger or light 6 banger that can turn like a **** and doesnt have all the crazy accessories that newer bmws are getting.

And can you send me more info on the M50 intake manifold swap. I know that the e36 m3 engine is an S50 and the e36 3 series is the M50. Sooo how does the m3 benefit from a "lower" engine? Are you refering to VANOS or am I missing something else?

Yes, The m50 is out of an older car, BUT it has much bigger intake runners that allow for a better flow.

You can read all about it at www.m50manifold.com . They make good kits out there that have all the adapters needed to set it up.

Omg i took this out tonight and the 0-100 still scars me lol... Can't wait to take it to the track on friday!

Ahhhh another one of the best 4th gens sold! I can't believe you sold your Max and got old M3 instead. lol j/k
An M3 will not look as good as your Maxima. I don't car how rare it is, it just doesn't look attractive. Ohhh well keep us updated on that M3, I would like to see how it'll look with upgrades.

Actually, only the '95 US M3 has an S50, the '96-99 have S52s. IIRC the S50 was basically a bored out version of the M50, so they had the same intake mani etc. The M52 and S52 had more midrange and less top-end, but much like the VQ30 you can swap the mani for more top-end.

You sir are correct

Going to the track tonight, we'll see how it does. I'm not expecting anything spectacular but it still should be fun. If anyone gives me **** i'll just tell them, "Lets take it through the twisties..." haha

lmao you know me too well. Hopefully this thing called "college expenses" will be enough to keep me away, but that may just be called optimism for my bank account.

Welcome to the club!

Fun factoid: The 4-door is actually slightly lighter and stiffer than the 2-door...

What springs and dampers is it on?

Congrats on your new M3! BMW's are a whole new machine. I have an E39 540i, and everything about the car is amazing.

Congrats! E36 M3's are the new Bandwagon . Cosmos / Dove 4 door 5speed, looks like my car's clone!

Heres an interesting fact, they only made 8444 M3 Sedans, and only about half were manual.

If I'm not mistaken, I don't think any M car outside the new M5 ever came with anything other than a manual transmission. Maybe I'm wrong...anways, let's hear some updates on your track night.

The E36 M3 had a slushbox option (which also limited power to 220hp).

The E46 M3 had an SMG option.

Good job man, car looks great. Welcome to the 4G turned RWD club, too much fun for our own good I tell ya.

Did you end up getting a decent payment for your 4G?

Congrats man. Did you take it to the track? What did it run?

Does it feel alot faster then the maxi? Ive driven those things before, and the thing i love about it, is how it pulls hard all over the rpm band, where as in my USIM maxima it died off up top. I swear the E36 feels like it could keep going on and on ahah.

I did alright at the track, I ended up running a 14.5 but my trap and 60's were crap. The track wasn't prepped very well either (free run night), but overall not bad for my first time and bone stock. On my last run I modified the airbox a bit and ran a trap of 97 but forgot to take TC off.. Doh! Before i could put a good run together i got rained out...

Its a good base, i'm confident that when i go back with a few mods i'll be running much better.

As far as power comparison? Its a totally different beast, and I don't know if i'll ever own a FWD again (at least until i hit winter and realize i won't be able to move in snow ha).

My favorite part about the power is the 40 and above, you could just be cruising and drop it to 3rd quick and to 4th and it just pulls and pulls...then you look down and realize you're going 90. I can't even imagine what a Turboed e36 m3 feels like...

The overall feel of the car is just perfect and balanced. I know exactly why so many are going from e46 to e36 and i haven't even driven an e46!

updated pic, unfortunately just a camera phone pic , i may have some nice old school BBS RS's going on soon I do miss the maxima though, i love visiting the .org again and seeing what everyones done, some sick looking maximas.
