Yup, it's the end of my Maxima modding career. At least for now. The car is being demodded starting this weekend. The 00VI is coming off, the VAFC is being removed, intake is being removed, etc. Car is being returned to totally stock other than the y-pipe, headlights/corners, and stuff like the interior LEDs. I may have some fun with it down the road, but for right now I just wanted to enjoy a near-stock, quiet, comfortable car like the one I remember buying 3 years ago. It's been fun, and the car has been great. I have no doubt it's going to be a fun daily driver at least for a couple more years.
Anyway, here's been the last 3 years:

Dang. I know what you mean though, rolling around in the I30 is nice (leaves you alone) where as the Max is much more unforgiving (ACT clutch/500lb springs/filled mounts etc...) Just keep your logic around the forums please...
I'm not going anywhere
Besides, I have plans for this car. I just want it mostly stock for a while. I just want a comfortable, quiet, reliable car that I can jump in and enjoy. I'm sick of my exhaust, I'm sick of fixing stuff, etc. The most joy I think I ever got out of my car was when it was completely bone stock. Of course I was 16 and it was my first car, but still
To the gas comments, I don't actually pay for my own gas
Call me spoiled, I don't care. My parents are likely to start making me pay for it though the amount of running around I do, and it's no fun having to fill up every week. I want the 500 miles-to-a-tank gas mileage back on long trips!

i hear yah. i remember when my mom first give me this car, had absolutely no issues other than minor maintenance. now, its just hell. need to fix this, that, and buy, buy, buy. i enjoy it...somewhat, but it can be stressful.

My right foot has been shut up as well. I managed to get 27 MPG this weekend with about 80% highway driving, and that's with no EGR or working O2 sensors, so I think I am doing pretty good. This little engine and tranny combo never ceases to amaze me.
^^^sounds good man.I guess that means that you might be able to join us for our 1st summer meet later this month....lol...all hwy miles.......Your max looks great demodded regardless........

I hear ya...I took off my loud Greddy years ago and im so glad I did. I put the stock muffler back on and its been such a nicer driving experience. I also put the old air box back in and took out my CAI. Nice n quiet...the only thing i wouldn't return back to stock is the suspension.

my max handles better than stock
rides better than stock
is faster than stock
drives more solidly than stock
is more comfortable than stock
oh, and my exhaust isn't any louder than stock
mods and a comfortable, quiet car are not mutually exclusive

If I could do it the way I wanted, my car would be in the same boat as yours.
when I get the modding bug I just change out my corners. I have clear/tinted/orange. It's easy and doesn't cost me anything. I've tried several times to give up modding, but it's just too damn addictive.
Well, the manifold is off and everything is back to stock there. All that's left non-stock in the engine bay is a cone filter and the HID equipment
I'm undecided as to whether I will put the stock intake back on. I forgot how cool the intake sounds with the stock manifold (that mechanical growl) so I may put the stock intake back on just to keep my right foot at bay from wanting to hear it.

Around town I'm driving really tame, I mean mild throttle and shifting at 2k with only the occasional downshift to have a bit of fun, and I still get <20mpg
