Tried on some Saleen's...(warning: DIRTY car)

Awhile back I put my buddy's Saleen 18x9s +22 (or +24, not 100% sure) w.Dunlop Direzzas on my AE Maxima. Pics below.

The front pokes just a little too far, but I like it. If I buy these rims I'll probably just get spacers for the rear. I really do need a new set, my SE 17s are corroded and pitted beyond all hell so I'm looking at a few options.

Anyways, onto the pics.

Thanks for looking. I'm working on my exhaust now, I'll be doing a little bit of chassis/suspension and then find me some proper wheels.

JNCoRacer Jun 20, 2009 07:57 AM

Eh, wheel design is nice but the offset kills it.

blaxima06 Jun 20, 2009 08:39 AM

^^^Agreed

97Maximus Jun 20, 2009 09:28 AM

^^ Agreed.. So does the 4X4

PulsarGTS Jun 20, 2009 09:51 AM

They would look better if the front wasnt so up in the air but I think they look good.

Grand_hustle17 Jun 20, 2009 10:46 AM

a drop would definately make it better, looks really nice though

aackshun Jun 20, 2009 11:58 AM

offset, offset, offset.

Wheels looked way better than I thought. Good choice!

omartopsecret Jun 20, 2009 12:26 PM

you should drop your car first if you are planing to put on racing rims, your car wont look good until you drop it, unless you put 22' but the style looks good!!!

321VQ35MAX Jun 20, 2009 12:54 PM

I agree on the drop, much needed..... Rim design is decent. Offset looks like a bit much.....

QNO_A32 Jun 20, 2009 02:10 PM

i think the offset is what makes these hot on there, of course it needs to be wayyyyyy lower

MoncefA33 Jun 20, 2009 05:11 PM

Yeah, I need to drop it. I think I want new rims first cuz the faces of mine are awful! :(

I took those pics basically right after we took the car off of the stands. But I understand that's no excuse ;)

I like the offsets, it just needs to be more even in the rear IMO.

PulsarGTS Jun 20, 2009 08:14 PM

Bro you will rub all over the place if you space out the rears with that offest. The only reason they don't now if because your are lowered. Loose atleast an inch in front and add a tiny bit of camber and your set.

aventerav Jun 21, 2009 11:06 AM

I thought this was a mustang thread.

phatboislim Jun 21, 2009 11:13 AM

A DROP WOULD MAKE THIS LOOK HOT

2LEET4U Jun 21, 2009 08:29 PM

looks like you have a set of staggered wheels and installed them wrong...

MoncefA33 Jun 21, 2009 08:45 PM

What?

They're the same offset and width. They're not staggered. It makes sense to me I guess, the stock wheel setup on 5th gens is retarded, the front ones are flush-ish and the rears are sunken. (Read: Hot girl with rack, but no butt.)

e-subliminal-2 Jun 21, 2009 08:47 PM

^ +1. I Really dont like it, but possibly with a drop it'll look much better. I'd do the drop before anything, I think it's horrible to have nice rims w/o a drop.

MoncefA33 Jun 21, 2009 08:50 PM

Yeah, I want to drop it with a good spring/shock setup (would rather do coilovers, but I drive the car year-round)

But I want some nice rims first because mine are pretty beat up looking. OEM 350Zs or G coupes look nice but I want something sorta unique.

But first I need to install my headers/cat-back and Emanage Ultimate.

anomaly117 Jun 21, 2009 08:52 PM

drop it or lose 'em bro. the rear looks great though

MoncefA33 Jun 21, 2009 08:57 PM

I'm using the stock 17s now with their gay unaggressive offsets :(

Bleh I wish I pooped money.

2002AltimateV6 Jun 21, 2009 09:46 PM

Good lookin' car but I had to try and see what it would look like slammed to the ground with some negative camber.

Me like.

MoncefA33 Jun 21, 2009 09:50 PM

Nice photoshop action. I used to do manipulations like that all the time.

MoncefA33 Jun 24, 2009 06:37 AM

Lol, this was taken in February I think, I've just never put them on the org.

Puppetmaster Jun 24, 2009 07:18 AM

Looks decent... for a similar look with less complicated fitment the 1998ish SVT Cobra 17x8s fit perfectly on most generation Maximas. Jeff92SE used to have them on this 3rd Gen.

These:

Meh, those are alright.

Snypa Jun 24, 2009 10:59 PM

photochopped looking right.

MoncefA33 Jun 27, 2009 10:32 PM

Now I want a drop :(

I might do that next fall/summer when I'm at ISU...if I have time to take the car apart.

ISMELLRICE Jun 27, 2009 11:01 PM
