Put in a little Work on my 6th gen...

9 Attachment(s)
Wheels are Work Euroline DH's, fronts are 20x8.5 +15 (+30 with a 15mm spacer) with 225/35's and rears are 20x10.5 +25 with 255/35's. The center caps need some work, so I'm planning on just polishing them so they'll at least match the lips. I can't put them on right now because the rears have extended studs and stick out too far, gotta go back to OEM ones. The wheel faces aren't perfect and have some oxidizing (or as I refer to them, :yeahright stains), but I'm going to leave them as-is for a while. Suspension is BC Racing BR Type coils with Swift springs, 9kg/mm front and 10kg/mm rear. I still need to install my Progress RSB, Moog endlinks, Battle Version camber arms, and SPC toe bolts. I still need to do some work on the front fitment, going to space it out a little more and add some negative camber. I also need to do something about my roof, the black vinyl looks like sh!t and has it's own fair share of :yeahright stains.

Very nice, a 6.5 gen front would look nice. But all in all you nailed the look.

Post a rear shot

NissanTun3r 07-02-2012 09:42 PM

Ive never been a fan of those VIP styled wheels.

Shift_A32B 07-02-2012 09:54 PM

Meh. Not my bowl of cereal.

datdude20 07-03-2012 03:25 AM

Looks good man. i dont like to many 6th gens without the front end conversion, but i like yours. Nice, simple and clean.....oh......and the fitment is on point

Thanks a lot. I've considered the conversion, but now I think this front end kind of complements the car.

Dish wheels aren't for everyone. I think they go well with the 6th gens fat body and I love them.

That's fine, not everyone has to like the same cereal.

Thanks a lot, that's exactly what I was aiming for. Sometimes people do too much and it takes away from the car. The fitment's something I've been working on for quite a while, I want just the right amount of flushness and camber and I'm almost there.

phatboislim 07-03-2012 08:51 AM

agreed yo...if that grill was polished/chrome/etc it woulda been a fail mission

hero782 07-03-2012 10:19 AM

This guy is a pioneer when it comes you aggressive wheel setups for the 6thgen, one of my favorite 6thgen.

Prophecy99 07-03-2012 10:34 AM

those wheels aesthetically fit the gen very very well. nice

Most people don't like the billet style grilles, but I like it because it really looks like it was designed for the car, from the fitment to the lines. E&G makes some quality stuff.

Thanks, I always look at the end product first to make sure everything goes together, otherwise it'll just look like a car with random sh!t on it.

I originally planned on painting the lower portion of my bumper the body color and doing something else with the grille, but right now it seems to have just the right amount of black accents.

Wow, what a compliment, thanks bro. I've put in a lot of work, time, and money to push the fitment limits of the 6th gen. I'm glad more people, including you, are starting to step it up and use what I've learned to push the limits even more.

Thanks, I put a lot of thought into it before I bought them. I knew these wheels wouldn't look right without the right amount of drop, the lower the car the better they look. I also would look at 2nd and 3rd gen Lexus GS's with similar wheels because those cars share similar body lines, and if those can pull it off I felt the 6th gen had potential.

Thanks a lot guys, it's good to know I'm not the only one who can appreciate simplicity.

max ride 41 07-05-2012 09:16 PM

i hate most of the wheels i see like that, but your stance is awesome!!!! and, the wheels are my taste, not to overdone and clean.

MaxiNone 07-06-2012 08:58 AM

dont add anymore camber on the rear, i think it looks great that way it sits. the black billit grille works really versus if it was left polished. coming along really well

Thanks. Wheels like these need a proper stance, especially on light colored cars.

Thanks, I don't want anymore camber in the rear, I'm going to add some to the front to even it out.

pimpin02max 07-06-2012 02:13 PM

Like everyone else said, the car looks great. The wheels aren't my cup of tea but the stance looks perfect.

smplyamzng 07-07-2012 03:33 PM

This is a perfect example to show that adding lips or jumping on the 6.5 gen swap bandwagon isn't necessary. With the right drop and flushness the 6 gen is just as pimp as any done up 6.5. Hats off to you sir.

Hopefully when i'm ready to start my project the wife wont give me hell lol.

Thanks, I know the wheels aren't for everyone, but I've always loved the DH's and the step lips sealed the deal for me.

Wow thanks. I actually have considered the 6.5 swap but chose to work with the 6th gen body lines, so it's good to see someone actually recognize that. If your wife doesn't give you hell you are one lucky man lol.

heavily agreed

Your new set-up is hella nice. Really like the drop. The wheels really go well with the look you got going for your ride. Overall, everything flows.

You should just paint the top instead of the vinyl. It'll give it a much better look and last longer obviously.

lulz 07-28-2012 10:22 AM

At first I was like ewww but then i was like :drool1:

Thanks, I always make sure everything flows before I make any changes. I want to paint it, but I'm going to see how the car looks without a black roof first.

LOL thanks. At first glance the wheels probably look dub-ish, so that's understandable.

Akfahad 08-01-2012 03:32 PM

Nice choice!

SlvrPtrn 08-13-2012 11:55 AM

I love it. Its exactly what I want on my max, especially since its silver haha. What roof spoiler did you go with? I think it looks great with just the roof spoiler, I like the rounded trunk. So much awesome on one car I'm envious. Can't wait to start modding now.

96blackmaxSE 08-14-2012 09:56 AM

FRESH.

SlvrPtrn 08-15-2012 08:30 PM

How much negative camber you running in the rear to fit the 10.5????

VisciousMo 08-16-2012 09:15 AM

Car is on point, one of my fav 6th gens.

Thanks! It took a lot of thought, but I'm glad I went with them.

Thanks! It's an Ionic Dynamics one, I just saw Paradox is clearing out a few for cheap. I like the spoiler-less look as well. If I went with a trunk spoiler it'd have to be a really subtle lip spoiler, the 6.5 gen one is too sporty for me.

Not sure, I still need to get an alignment but I need to install other things first. Before I lowered it more it was within OEM spec, so I'd guess right now I'm around 2-3 degrees. My fenders are rolled, the bumper mount tab is shaved down, and I'm running narrow 255/35's.

4dgs 09-18-2012 01:31 AM

What rear arms did you use from Battle version. Wasn't aware they made anything for the max or if you're using a Z33 arm?

Yeah I'm using Z33 camber arms. I was discussing suspension upgrades (other than coilovers) with OG on VSC (I have the same username there) and he said most of the rear suspension is the same or similar to the Z33. BTW I love your car on every set of wheels you have/had, the Equips are looking proper but I probably liked the Bazreias the most. If you don't mind, what struts/shocks and bags are you running (brand, shortened or not, etc.)? I know you ride low on air, not sure how much lift you have. Just trying to learn more about air setups just in case.
