My 2001 Nissan Maxima SE...in 2019
Hi, Everyone!
I tried out some Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax for the first time the other day, and I'll have to give it thumbs up. It's very easy to use - especially since it comes off very easily from non-metal parts - and has good reflectability and shine. After I finished giving my baby the wash, clay bar, and Ultimate Liquid Wax treatment, I realized that my car hit 218,000 miles exactly so I decided to take some pictures for fun. I'm the original owner of this car. She is a 2001 Nissan Maxima SE with an Icelandic Pearl exterior and a Black interior with simulated perforated cloth trim and seats. At the time, I actually had her custom ordered at the dealership, so she wasn't a dealer-upgraded / price-hiked model that was just sitting on the lot for me to pick. I've never really modded her except for a generic FSTB, a Progress rear anti-sway bar, and swapping out the stock 16-inch wheels with the 17-inch ones from that model year. As for interior mods, I have the chrome door sills, OEM rubber floor mats, and 350Z dead pedal with Anniversary Edition pedals. I do have the Anniversary Edition shifter too, but I haven't been motivated enough to install it. For electronics, I have a GROM Audio adapter which allows me to have Bluetooth while keeping the steering wheel audio controls and a YI 4K Action Camera that I use as a dash cam. It's 2019, and she continues to run great and will be 19 years old later this September! Enjoy the pics! Peace! https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/T_...=w1227-h920-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Mb...=w1227-h920-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/m3...o=w981-h736-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/ga...=w1227-h920-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Rn...=w1227-h920-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/9S...=w1227-h920-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/u0...=w1227-h920-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/PR...=w1227-h920-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/ro...0=w981-h736-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/a5...A=w981-h736-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/SH...=w1227-h921-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/eC...=w1227-h920-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/NM...=w1227-h920-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/ZX...=w1227-h920-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/qp...M=w981-h736-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/DN...=w1227-h920-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/0H...=w1227-h920-no https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/9v...=w1466-h920-no |

Being a base trim also meant that it came with stock five-spoke 16-inch wheels which I was okay with for a while. Then a few years later, a Maxima.org member was unloading a full set of the 17-inch six-spoke wheels along with the logo caps in great condition for under $600.00, so went for those. :) |

I purchased them from Costco where they were installed. Later that week when I had a wheel alignment performed at Les Schwab Tire Center, the tech guy took a look at the car and said "wow, those are some beefy looking tires!" I do like the aggressive appearance. :) https://www.bfgoodrichtires.com/uplo...-hero_zoom.png |

I do my best to maintain her as well as possible by myself. She's never had an oil change or tire rotation done by anyone but me. I've replaced the MAF sensor, spark plugs, coil set, thermostat, radiator, hoses, starter, O2 sensors, and more by myself. The stealership and other repair shops have only worked on her on things that I couldn't handle or didn't want to handle. And it also doesn't hurt that she's been garage kept for most of her years. :D |
My 2001 Nissan Maxima SE...in 2020...Happy Birth Month!
Hi, Everyone!
In 2000 on this month (September) - 20 years ago - my Maxima SE was assembled in Japan for the 20th anniversary model year. And now it's 2020, and she continues to look great and drive fine. So many twos and zeroes all over the place! :) Here's a picture of her from June 2019: https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/pw...w1410-h1057-no Nothing has changed since COVID-19 hit and I don't really drive around too much. I still love this car! Happy birth month! :D Peace! |
