how long can i run on blown struts?

did a search but didn't really find anything.

jus got my car back from the dealer cus there was a weird noise in the back. well they said my rear struts r blown. and i was wondering how long can i run on them. well, the service guy there told me that i can run on them for a pretty long time, it's just gonna wear my tires quicker.

so is that service guy right?
weird thing is that i only have 36k miles on my 99, so how come they blew out so fast?

thanks in advance

You can run as long as you want but the longer you go the worse the handling, ride, and safety will be.

Until you lose control and crash...

make it a priority to change them out... or at least be careful when driving.

i rode on rear blown struts for over 8 months and i didnt feel anything......im not saying thats goodo i just didnt notice any difference in my ride control.....i was about 2 inches lowered also so my ride quality was bad to begin with.......the only thign that i guess u could feel is a bouncy ride........my car bounced over everyhting with sprint springs and blown struts.......but now i got kyb agx struts with coilovers.......ill be getting my air ride in the mail within the next week so i cant wait to see how my car rides with air bag suspension.

I had totally blown shockies in the rear. Thehole back of the car seemed like it was on meat *****. If there was the slightest bump in the road the car would shudder as the whole rear axle bounces and the car would move sideways as the wheels actually lost contact with the road. It was even worse on the corners. I know the wheels were actually leaving the road because I had a mate lean out the window and look while we were doing about 40km/hr. I drove for about 500km over the new year and I hated it. I couldn't get new ones right away other wise I would have changed them. I felt like tipping my cefiro off a cliff. I could actually bounce the back of the car and get the wheels to leave the grond when it was parked. Also another thing it would do was constantly the rear end would go up, down, up, down. it was so embarresing.

yea my backs blew out first almost a year ago and then my fronts slowly too...the ride sucks cuz it bounces all over and shakes alot and the contact with the ground seems horrible, but i had one question...my friends said that EVERYTHING is affected from bad suspension and bad tires, cuz the tires and suspension are the only things that allow the car to touch the road, and my car feels heavier with bad suspension since the weight is carried as well, and it feels like the car has to drag alot more sumtimes and feels heavier for sum reason, the car has lag on it like as if it didnt wanna travel smoothly...could accelaration therefore or takeoffs be affected by bad suspension and bad tires? or is there sumthing wrong with my car elsewhere thats making it feel slower and heavier?

Tommy, u remember me eh? Whats up Bud? One suggestion my friend. Your max is hot man, and if you wanna add 15hp (just kidding) want it to look a lot I mean A LOT better, remove your Mud Flaps. I know they help with road debrie kickin up on the car, but trust me. The car will look a lot better with that drop!
