noise when driving with people in back seats...(no dirty jokes)

hey everyone,
this may be a stupid question but i figure it's better asked than not. my car has been making this noise in the rear for many months. whenever i have people in the back and go over any size bump i hear it. it used to seem like it was only near the muffler, so i brought my car into meineke and had the fellas there check it out. after a while, we found a spot on my exhaust pipe right behind my muffler, that looked like it was scraping on something. so they heated it up and bent it up so it shouldn't come close to touching anything. the sound went away for a little while and was soon back although not as bad. so my question is, do you think it could be my springs or shocks/struts? i don't know what is making the noise but now it seems like it's from both sides. it's not a really loud noise but it's noticeable...so does anyone have any ideas for me? i don't know when the last time any of the suspension was changed, and have had the car for one year with no real problems. any suggestions will be appreciated. thanx

Update, blown rear struts

i brought my car into meineke today because my ebrake cables need to be replaced(decided against fixing it there and anytime soon, seperate issue though) and they told me my rear struts are blown.

yes i have searched about stuff but could only find info on if you're lowering or doing all that stuff...so my question is, what do you guys recomend for replacement struts and how much are they? i'm a poor little college student who needs to save money but want my car driving nice...so i'm open to suggestions.

one more small issue, i've been hearing this strange noise when i'm going really slow and release the brakes. it's almost a small thud but today i heard an almost scraping (not high pitched though) noise after the brake was released and i don't like that at all. does anyone have any ideas as to why my car makes so many damn noises? thanx everyone

it most likely is a suspension problem... especially rear because ure saying ure problem is affected by weight (ppl in rear seats). Check it out...
