Video: World's Largest Maxima Burnout (sorry no pillows this time)
Video: World's Largest Maxima Burnout (sorry no pillows this time)
I needed new tires, from the curb incident and the nail so I figure what the hey, I'm gonna give a huge smoke show. I video taped it with my crappy camera, and Louie was nice enough to host it for me, since I cant get my comcast FTP to work. If this does not work you need the right codec http://www.max-performance.net/vids.htm has a link to it. You may also need DirectX8, you can get that from www.download.com . Anyway, I coulda probably kept going with the burnout, but my right tire sprung a leak anyway after I was done. I had to drive home on a Donut, and will have to drive to the tire store on a donut as well.
Please be patient the vids about 7 Megs.

Anyone else have this problem with the vid?
Opening scene with maxima, but no movement throughout entire video... sound only?

As much as I'd like to, I'm not going to reduce this thread to arguments and name calling. If I wanted that I would go to off-topic.net. So please keep your smart comments to yourself.

Anyways awesome burnout buddy, when the time comes, aka when I buy new tires, I'll destroy my old ones with a little something like that

OK I think I figured out comcast.net. Anyway here is another link: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/ewong61/DSCF0003.AVI (you gotta have DirectX 8- get it from www.download.com if needed).
To do such a huge burnout isnt that hard. Choke the back wheels/put them over a ledge. Use ebrake- pull it up tight or the wheels will roll. Revver up, drop the clutch and modulate the gas so you dont over rev the motor. You can see my first 2 attempts failed because the car moved. With a little bit of water on the ground to break the traction it worked quite well. It also helps ALOT that I have a Quaife differential. That thing can do 50/50 power splits, with dark and consistent marks :-D

Got it... niiiiice!
Damn, that's one sweet burnout. You gotta get a still for your sig of the near-last moment of the vid with the smoke drifting backwards off your tires... would be cool.

Sweet burnout dude. Next time roll up your windows and turn the fan on recirc. That burnt rubber cloud ain't good for tha lungs.
I am intrigued as to why some people are asking how you did that.
Has anyone ever seen a 2nd gear burnout? I'll be making one shortly.
