Need new brakes and rotors

I'm looking to get new brake pads (squeeky brakes) and rotors (yes, I've got brake wobble).

Are aftermarket parts cheaper and where should I go to get them?

Thanks all

Get the (made in the USA) Bendix rotors and Bendix Ti-IQ brake pads.

I actually posted a thread about this last week... I needed new pads/rotors as well. At the advice of other members, I decided to do the job myself. I did it with Raybestos QuietStop pads and Autozone Rotors. The pads are $59.99 for the front, and the rotors are $26.99 each. I put them on last night, and have never been happier with the braking! If you want smooth stops and quiet braking, I would suggest this combination. I've never used the others, so I don't know but just thought I'd share!

Raybestos QS pads are good too. >>

As for the rotors, as long as they are made in the USA...they should be good to go. All of those parts stores sell rotors made in Asia...and they can be less than $30 a piece, but in my opinion, it's better to spend the $55 per rotor and get USA quality material.

Well I just went to Advance Auto and picked up some plain rotors and pads, though I wanted some Bendix pads they were out of stock.

I think I might wait a couple of days or special order them becuase I'm not doing this job for another 2 weeks. They were cheaper pads, but the guy was cool and said they were still pretty decent (just glad he didn't try to sell me something more expensive).

One question though: Can you cross drill your own rotors? I know thats so ricey, but I wonder if anyone has ever done it.

Stillen Rotors.

Does any one think it's worthy to buy stillen rotors. I know they are a little more expensive than some other you may get from the local store, or OEM, or even some of those websites you see in car magazines. I wanted the looks of drilled or slotted rotors because mine look doll and dirty.

You can buy nice cross-drilled/slotted rotors at almost any parts store. Expect Stillen to jack the price up on what ever you buy by a considerable amount.

the quality and reliability is only as good as the company that designs *where* to drill and *how* they drill, which is why I recommend sticking with the companies that have a known reputation (ie KVR, Powerslot, Stillen, Powerstop, etc).
