just got ae pedals.....questions

i ordered ae pedals and got them today from tustin nissan. took a few days longer than they said but still not too long. anyways, i was under the impression the gas pedal was supposed to come with the whole assembly...? i only got the pedals so i'm not sure. and the brake pedal has the black rubber behind it and lil marks around each circle so i think i need to clean it, while the gas one just has holes and no rubber behind it. does this seem right? anyone else who bought them have anything to say before i put them on?

Yeah, the gas pedal has holes and no rubber and you can put it on without the rest of the assembly.

And the brake pedal has rubber on it.

You mean these...

Everything is correct the gas pedal will become apparent when you do the install, so will the other pedals.

what do i do about the gas pedal? the one in the car has a built on clip to hold on the pedal, while the ae new one doesn't have anything?

btw, the brake one is not fun at all to put on. it came off in 5 seconds, but putting it back on is another thing. i can't get all of it to sit completely around the pedal itself, if you know what i'm saying. like...i can get 90% of it around and it feels pretty snug but i'd like to have it completely on there. does anyone have any tips about putting these on?

Can you get AE pedals for an AUTO?

I like that look, but most aftermarket pedal sets look stupid. I thought abut making a set out of diamond plate, including a dead pedal, but I really like those.

Where did you guys get yours? I could always leave off the clutch, if I had to...

I had AE pedals on my auto. Got mine from Courtesy Nissan and just told them to send me the auto set.

Thanks for the tip. Does it include a deadpedal as well?

I don't remember is my gas pedal came with the clip or if I used the ones from the old one. Try those. As for the brake, what I found works really well is one of those paint can openers. You know with the ring on one end and sort of a hook on the other.

Nope, no dead pedal. Just the gas and the brake pedals.

The simplest way to put on the gas pedal and make it stay: a rubber band

Seriously.

You see the two hooks? The arm goes in between the two hooks, then just hook on a thin rubber band and wrap it around a couple of times and voila! Simple and effective.

And I don't remember how much I got my set for. I think I paid $60 for them.

Or you can break off the plastic clip from your old gas pedal and attach it to the AE one.

They hosed you just like I got hosed. If you don't have an AE, you need the whole arm assembaly with the pedal otherwise you can't attach it. They shouldn't have sold you just the pedal and wouldn't have if they knew better. Get the whole assembaly and you'll be fine.

That little white plastic clip on the gas pedal, should I break it off to get the pedal off? It's in a real tough spot for me to get to, but I didn't want to jack anything up. The brake was a pain, but simple, screwing up the accel wouldn't be cool
