Squeaking Brakes After Start-Up

Recently my brakes start squeaking like the first 5 mins after start up whenever I step on it. However, after 5 mins my brakes dont squeak anymore Does any1 know why warped rotor, brake dust, brake pads wearing down ?? I only have 23k miles

warped rotors means ur rotors are not true and in various thickness....more obvious when braking high speed. steering wheel and body vibration are observed.

your case doesnt sound like warped rotors.

ive had this ever since my first pair of new pads on the front. i got cheapie aftermarket pads and the "warm-up" squeeling was HORRIBLE. ive since gotten OEM brake pads and it's helped with the squeel but it still slightly squeels for a good minute or two. it seems like the brakes need to get "warmed up" doesnt it? then the squeeling disappears.

if you find a fix for this let me know!!

If you are only experiencing the squeaks in the first few mintues after starting up the car for the first time of the day, it could be attributed to rust buildup on the rotors. If you drive long distances daily, rotors exposed to water or live in high humidity these factors can all attribute to a light coat of rust buildup and the squeaking is the pads removing the buildup. The rust buildup is visible on the rotors as a rust colored film so you'll automatically know if this is the cause. However, it could also be attributed to the pads as well. Metallic pads can cause this.

Maximum is right. My rotors were shiny and silver before I washed my car. I shoot tons of water on my rims and the body of the car just to get a nice look. After drying the car, and letting it sit for a while, I noticed some rust appearing on the rotors. I didn't think much of it because once you take out the car to the streets, the pads will eventually grind off the rust. But I did notice some squeaking when pulling into the garage after I washed the car. So, nothing to go crazy about.

Interesting enough I rotated my tires yesterday and the squeaking stopped this morning The brake pads still looked good. I live in So Cal so its usually hot and not humid so the buildup shouldnt be tat great from moisture, however i do leave my car outside.

I had new rotors and pads put on the front and pads on back about 1k ago...I get a bad squeak from my wheels sometimes when just coating in traffic without even hitting the brakes...other times no noise at all?

It was embarrasing the other day waiting in Cape traffic to go over the Sag. Sounded like mice in my wheels....when I questioned the mechanic about it he said that the brakes pads need to adjust to the rotors etc and eventually that noise will go away....Bendix Import quiets(yea right) on front and I thingreg Bendix on rear....squeaks sound like coming from back on oem rotors but not sure...

this guy feeding me a line or what?

We actually have had rain here in central NC, and I saw a bunch of rust on my rotors, and it seemed there was more on the fronts.

Didn't notice any squealing, though, when I started, and I've got to do several slowdowns before I get out of the work complex (they've put speed bumps in.)

Although I've only got 2300 miles on the car, I had to have the front rotors replaced right after delivery, as they were causing a shudder. I suspect they were warped.

The car had been driven from Georgia to my dealer in NC.
