Tranny/Clutch Question
Tranny/Clutch Question
My car has 89k on it, with original clutch. The pedal is stiff and it started to queek too. Also changing gears is very vague, and the shifter is wobly. You can change from 3rd to 4th and back with one finger, apply almost no pressure.
I've driven my friend's 98. His pedal is waaay lighter and shifting is much more precise. Feels like a totally different car.
Is it time to replace my clutch? Doesn't seem like it's slipping, but it's very unpleasent in comparison. Also, would it help with the shifting at all?

i got all the same stuff goin on, i changed to redline tranny fluid which helped a little bit, and putting in the ACT clutch this weeknd, so ill let u know if that clears it up, it seems to me that that is how the 95-96's are

It also may be that your return spring has slightly "unsprung" (my Physics teacher technical words) over time. It may not necessarily be the clutch, but it may be the pressure disk is wearing out. It can be a multitude of things to be honest with you. But since you have that many miles, maybe it is time for a new clutch anyways with Redline fluid...
