After a month on Michelin MXM4's....
After a month on Michelin MXM4's....
well, one month but one week nor driving since I was on vacation...here's my $.02:
- Definitely softer-riding than the Potenzas, even with one PSI more both front and rear. Specially noticeable on lane dots, manhole covers, those kings of small, sharp-edged imperfections.
- Quieter than the Potenzas on smooth asphalt and fairly smooth concrete, about the same noise levels asotenzas on rough concrete
- Dry traction better than Potenzas..also smoother at high cornering forces...when the Potenzas were rolled over into high-deflection cornering conditions they would kinda 'rumble' a bit, these much smoother/quieter. no squeal, either.
- Wet traction: no flaming clue still as it's been dry-dry-dry here in Portland, Oregon.
Only negative is that the tires dont look well on the rims compared to the Potenzas....they dont have the rim protector 'flanges' and since thy're about a half-inch wider (section width, not tread width) they 'bulge out' from the rim a bit more. On hindsight, would have gone with 215/50/17s in lieu of 225/50/17's.
At $185.11 on sale at Sears (same as TireRack) not a bad deal...
