btw, got beat by a plymouth last night

yeah, i know. shame to the org, disgrace to the vq, yada yada yada. but it happened.
60 eastbound last night around montclair. open road so i'm cruising around 70 and switch lanes to get around the only other car out there (which of course was in the same lane). it's an old plymouth? wood sided minivan which i can hear accelerate to match my speed. i pull up alongside it and continue to accelerate but the driver's keeping up, i thought cuz he was road raging or something. i look over and it's some kid driving. whatever. i'm at around 85 now and the guy's like right beside me. i'm actually surprised at this point that i haven't walked him at half throttle so i floor it and pull about a car length. then BAM, there he goes. four car lengths later he shuts it down and lets me pull even. i didn't realize we were exactly racing, but what can i do? i was at full throttle and he whooped my a$$. so i give him a thumbs up and went on my way.

friggin wierd.

Haha, the famous turbo minivan. These guys stick a big freakin turbo in their minivans, then beat up on "sports" cars.

Turbo minivan website

Hey Serin, was it one of these that beat you?

I thought they had to open the back doors for the jet engine to get some breathing room...

I used to drive an Astro. The stock v6 was pretty punchy but it handles like a dump truck. It was extremely top heavy. On the way home from high school one day, trying to impress a girl riding with me, I decided to swing the wheel back and forth at 70mph. I got it up on two wheels and it scared the **** out of me!

When I worked for Enterprise I drove the big 15 passenger Ford Vans with the V-12 engine. If they were empty, those things would fly! They were so long that the rear wheel spin seemwed like a half mile behind you!

ummmm...

Correction... those 15 passenger vans from Ford are only V-10s....
They are the Triton series engines...If there are V-12's in those vans then that's new news to me...

I guess minivans are the ultimate sleepers. There's a turbo Honda Odyssey that I've seen at car shows before. Crazy stuff!
