We were talking at work and the subject came up of what my 91se cost when it was new. I guessed it was about 21K but that was just a guess. Does anyone have any idea price back then??

 

that's probably about right

my 93SE 5spd - sunroof, ABS, power seats cost $23,000 when it was brand new (somewhere in New England, Delaware or New Hampshire I think)
the original sales slip came in the packet with the owners manual when I bought it

 

Straight out of August, 1992 Car & Driver in the back of old road tests: 21,000, 0-60 in 6.7 Sec., 1/4 in 15.3, top speed 138. I just bought these old magazines to find a review on the max and I did, rated number 1 against Taurus SHO and Toyota Camary. The numbers above are obviously a VE 5-speed, a FAST sedan for its time, very fast. The '92 VE that I read a comparo on was $23,960.
