is there a relation between infiniti and nissan? and if there is what is the relation?

i ask because i see alot of infiniti post and cars on here.

Infiniti is the luxury division of Nissan... put another way, Infiniti is Nissan's equivalent of Toyota's Lexus. The Infiniti guys post here because they drive I30's, which are basically dressed up Maximas - same mechanicals.

thanks i've been thinking about that for a while now.

call me silly but i thought maxima's where luxary cars. if they're not luxary cars then what catagory do they fall under?

they are midsize family sedan.
nissan sorta called it luxury to get you buy it and think you are paying the non-luxury price for a luxury car. i don't blame them though, even saturn and daewoo are calling some of their models luxury cars now. sigh, where is this world coming to

what makes a car a luxary car?

i drove in a lexus and i drove in a new maxima didn't feel much different.
