Well, I've looked over all the posted VI timeslips and the gains are there, but the ETs and MPHs are rather disappointing (15s and 16s). On average, most people are seeing a .3 drop in ET and a 3-4mph gain. Most guys running the VIs haven't tested religously at the track and most guys are running autos. Travis in Joplin has run his VI at the track, but his VI valves weren't opening therefore he had to tie them open. This killed his lowend, but he still ran 15.1@90mph under very hot and humid conditions. His best ever without the VI was a 15.0@91 is cool and crisp air. With a operating VI and cooler weather, I imagine he will be running 14.6-14.7@94mph.

With that said, Nealoc187 and myself should be recieving our VIs within a week. I hope to have mine installed by the 11th and tested at KCIR by the 14th. I imagine Neal will have his installed and tested earlier. Both Neal and I test all our mods at the track under ALL conditions. Our potential gains will be easily calculated against prior timeslips under similiar conditions. Neal is a better driver than me and maybe runs at a better track (.3 second quicker on average) therefore I expect some decent ETs and mphs from him regardless of weather. Both of us are very consistent on the same day. I'm usually within .15 seconds and .5mph between runs therefore my driving overall isn't lacking and won't attribute to much bias. A few weeks ago, under 80+ degree temps, 80% humidity, and high 2.3 60 foots, I was getting 15.0s@93mph on average. This will be my baseline ET/MPH for the VI because weather conditions should be close to this in mid August.

I will be testing mine out on the 21st of august, I will do a couple runs with it on and a couple off to show the difference. Only thing that sux is that my track is 5830 feet.

Dave are you ever in the Chicago area?? Im sure that If you ran at Route 66 Raceway you would see some better times. From my experience the track has been sticky and traction is never a problem. Neal usually runs some good times there for the conditions.

The reason I asked was that I saw that Dave travels for his work and was recently in Michigan I believe. If he is ever travelling thru on a tuesday night he should stop by for test and tune.

Yeah, I do travel a bit for work and guess where I'll be next week on Thursday and Friday?????.........CHICAGO!!! Unfortunately when I travel I don't use my car (maybe I should change that to fortunately). Anyways, I will be renting from Enterprise and I will be requesting a 2K2 Maxima. Maybe I can meet some Chicago people.

As for our track in Kansas City, it isn't the best track seeing that's it's covered in 15 years of rubber, reflects the sun like glass, is slightly uphill, and is situated in a valley next to a river (high humidity). It's the only "local" track we have to choose from and I'm happy with the ETs/MPHs I have. Many Grand Prix guys from the MI/Ill area come down every year for the annual Grand Prix Gathering in KC and run at KCIR and they hate the track. Check out www.gp-owners.com and look at the forums and you'll see. On average, they are ~.4-.5 and 3-4mph slower at KCIR.

I will be venturing to Heartland Park Topeka, KS (a full blown Big Boy NHRA track) after I test my VI at KCIR. I won't go to Heartland until the Fall because I don't want to waste 1.5 hours driving if I'm not going to run a best. I'll probably have drag radials by then too.

I'm unsure where I'm staying because my client hasn't given me specific information on where the job site is. I'll post to the Chicago regional forum when I get more info.
