Shift **** off a 2k

Well guys, the whole tranny conversion (manual to auto) is done and the only thing that was forgotten out of the whole project was the shift ****. I would like a black one, maybe with a silver strip down the middle labeling the gears. I heard that the 2k's SE have this? If so, will it fit our shifter? Thanks guys.

I believe you are referring to the **** from the 2K1 AE.

Beware, the finish has been known to rub off and leave them crappy looking.

parents don't approve of manual transmission????

my parents are pretty conservative... don't approve of the tattoos, piercings, motorcycle, that type of thing. but I don't think I've heard anyone's parents not approve of a stick shift. what's the deal with that?

I've heard of plenty that don't approve of manuals.

There's one easy way around it most of the time....buy the car you want with your own money. If you still have problems after thats taken into account, then I feel for you

My old man admits I have one hand off the wheel more than he'd like with a manual (of course he assumes im a good, proper textbook driver who always keeps two hands on the wheel, the music low, and my eyes peeled to the road), but didn't have any problem with it. He was a b**ch during the whole process in terms of safety requirements and crap .. and it was my money.

Oh yea ... manual to auto?? What the hell were you thinking??

You got it backwards, he converted FROM auto TO manual, like me. If you know what your doing or have experienced people with you, it's not too hard, just very very lengthy.
