Test pipe and new muffler installed....good news!
I put the test pipe on first, and I was impressed with the slight gain in top end, felt like 2-3 hp for a cheap mod. I was really worried about trying a high flow muffler again, because I used to have an Arospeed universal, and it was nasty loud at all rpm's. I ordered a 2.5 Hooker aerochamber muffler, because I heard good things about it. It has a nice deep idle sound, and it is pretty loud when you are on the gas, but there is absolutely no drone, around town or on the highway. I am very pleased with the sound. The only problem is the raspiness. Anyone with a test pipe and full exhaust knows the sound that I am talking about. Will a resonator in the b-pipe get rid of the rasp? Overall I am pretty happy, because it is just what I wanted, loud when on the gas, but quiet the rest of the time. The best part is that the muffler was only $50. I was beginning to think there wasn't a muffler that didn't drone bad, without spending $500. These should compliment my variable intake nicely when it gets here soon.

Update! I got a dynomax 2.5 inch race bullet muffler installed as a resonator, and now my car is perfect, no rasp and no drone. It is even a little quieter now too. It is still somewhat loud when I am at full throttle, but it is quiet the rest of the time.

I won't hold it against you because we have only met twice and there were lots of people both times. But it is Matt.
I would like to go to the track now, but it is still hot and the track is 2 hours from me anyway. I wouldn't expect an E.T. increase in this weather, but maybe some MPH. I will prolly just wait on the VI.

I got model # 21502 2.5 offset in/ center out
This muffler will be very loud without a resonator, it is very raspy. I am extremely pleased with it now though, no rasp or drone and a nice deep sound. Be warned though, I have an automatic, if you have a 5 speed, the cruising rpm's might be different and there might be some drone. Even my mom approved and said it wasn't too loud. You will still be heard when you floor it though. Hope this helps.
