Just traded my 99SE in on a 2003.......

YES!!!!!!! a 2003 6 speed Max. Titanium color and titanium package w/leather and sunroof. Love it. 36 miles on it and the trip home was 30! This thing pulls 4th harder than my old SE auto did in 2nd. Hope the notchy shifter breaks in a little and I have a slight vibration at 60 they will need to fix but overall I love it. Tried to make it do this fuel cut thing put when I push the pedal down it just goes! Still shaking from the whole experience of the trade and all......I should stop shaking after a good nights sleep....If I can sleep!

Congrats! You won't regret it. I got the exact same car about 2 weeks ago.

Congrats! Awesome color. Hopefully the vib is just improperly balanced tires. The shaking will last for a while

I had a Blue 99se with 48K they started at invoice on new and 13K for my trade. I told the I would do the deal with my trade at 14k and they came back saying the broken antenna was 350 to fix and the fact that the car had been in an accident.....has a new front end as in hood fender, grill, 1 headlite, bumperskin.........made it worth only 13.......I started to walk and he siad to the salesman....sell the car. I had told the salesman this was not negotable so when the sales manager came back to try I just said i didn't want to hear anything but ok or not. I think I did ok, my car needed rear brakes, antenna was busted off, sratches, small dents (2), was making different noises than before my accident and most af all I was tired of the automatic......this 6 speed pulls so hard and I haven't gone over maybe 5500 yet but 4th from like 3000 is fun. 3rd even better. The vibration is for the woman, they tend to like that kind of action.

Great Trade!

.....PLEASE let us know what you think of the 2k3 handling vs. your 99SE.

I had a 98SE and I think think the new susp. is waaaay softer.

ENJOY THE RIDE!

Congratulation !! Enjoy the ride. I'll be keepin my 98 for a loooong time to come. If I want to buy another car after my payment ends, maybe I'll buy one, but I'm never gonna do a trade in. I have 120k now, and by Aug '03, i'm gonna have 150k miles!!!!

you might want to break in the car properly

cuz...when you get a brand new car, not a good thing to floor it and check out how it pulls. relax and wait my friend for 1000 miles
and then......you know what to do

This is BS. This whole break-in topic has been discussed many times. Do a search on it and you'll see why the 1,000 mi break-in duration is crap. From the begining, drive the car like you want it to perform.

I CAN ANSWER THIS ONE FOR YOU HAVE HAVE A 2002 SE AND A 97 SE AND YES THE 02 AND 03 ARE MUCH SOFTER. THE SUSPENSION BOTTOMS OUT EASIER AND THE FRONT END IS MUCH SOFTER/WAY TO SOFT AND HAS WAY MORE UP DOWN MOTION THAN THE 4TH GEN SE'S AND THE 2000 AND 2001'S. IT ALSO HAS MORE BODY LEAN IN TURNS, IT SEEMS THAT NISSAN SOFTENED IT UP SINCE GXE PRODUCTION HAS GONE DOWN AND ALOT OF THOSE CUSTOMERS WILL NOW HAVE TO BUY SE'S WANT COMPLAIN ABOUT A STIFF RIDE.

I'm in the same boat as you, I want to get rid of my superchipped 2k1 maxima and get a 2K3 6speed Titanium or Sheer Silver Max. Have you taken your car to see how much they would give you?

Did the same. Sold my '99 SE(great car) to a friend and bought a 2k3 Titanium SE but with an auto. I really like the 2k3. The issues or drawbacks vs the '99 SE, IMO, are the softer suspension of the 2k3(fixed that though with Tokico Blue struts) and the wind noise/roar at speed(will get used to it maybe).
Other than that, love the car. Good Luck with yours. Also, the thing that is bad for a new engine is constant and continuous heat(like from 500 miles of constant highway driving all at once). Getting on it(within reason) and varying the rpm/speed is actually the best way to break it in.

we'll see who gets better MPG and who stays trouble free all year long ....why just not follow what the manaul says...you think they just say it for fun?...car manaufatures know better then you, and its no biggie at all. i mean, driving nice for the first 1000 miles, cmon, its not hard AT ALL

IMO the engine probably does not need to be broke-in. But the rotors do. Driving hard means stopping hard and with new rotors it's a recipe for warpage.

Enjoy the 2003 6-spd!

If I were worried about gas millage, I wouldnt' have purchased a maxima, I'd have gotten a civic.
Also, the 5sp gets better millage than the auto anyway. What page does the manual mention the break-in period? Please show me.

20,400 miles and no complaints yet.

i don't have the page number but you can ask any other memeber here that its there. and i am not talking about ways to improve gas mileage by getting a civic. no matter how you drive, your MPG will always be low because you didn't break the car in properly. problems will come most likely at high mileage and you it will suck a@s lets just say
