Good move to get the 2k2.. But you might be able to get a better deal at Cars Direct I priced a 2k3 on there with Nav and it came to just under $29,000 a few weeks ago, if I can remember right..

I don't know whether you've ever owned the frost leather before but I have it and I wish I didn't. Sure it's not as excruciatingly hot in the summer but it gets so damn dirty it's impossible to maintain unless you clean it every week and you don't wear dark or coloured clothing and slightly sweat in it. If you already own frost leather and you like it and manage to maintain it, all the power to you.
As for the price of the car, I can't comment as I don't live in the U.S. but it does sound a tad high...

well that is the MSRP of a very nice car. Seeing that it is a 2K2 and there are 2K3's out already you should be able to get a much better deal than MSRP. Go to carsdirect, price out the same 2K3 and ask for 1-2K less than that. If they say yes, you got a fair price. If they say no, move on. With the 2K3 out and the 3.5SE Altima there is no way you should pay MSRP.

What I am trying to do is lower my payment and get a new car with 0.9% apr. I still owe NMAC money and perhaps I will break even when I trade in the car(6.9% apr with 60 months loan). I will take the opportunity to use the 0.9% apr with a new car and also with 0 mileage and perhaps same or more monthly payment with less loan term (36-48).

that why I am asking the forum for help and I am not an expert dealing with dealer any dealer period.

thank you in advance

Hey EXU...I know not what u expected but

quite frankly each individual situation is so unique that it's impossible for us (unless some of us know you REALLY well) to give you a GOOD opinion. Good as in 'good for you considering your personal situation'

Hey, I would love to be able to trade in my Max for a 2k3...who would'nt but...is it prudent (good) for u to do so? Is your current car beat up enough for u to warrant a new car? If your financial situation comfortable (and secure) enough to support this? Given your age, savings/investment habits, etc is this a good place for your hard-earned money to go to?

Not knowing your situation, no way in heck I (or the vast, vast majority of us) can give u a good opinion...hence my cryptic and admittedly unsympathetic post. It really is your call but...do yourself a favor...ask yourself the tough questions...if it's still 'yes' then go for it!

Good luck....

Just be informed. Do your research on what a fair price is for negotiation. Autobytel, Edmunds, MSNCarpoint and CarsDirect will give you invoice and MSRP prices. Realize that the 2K2 you are looking at may be what you want, but don't let the dealer know that. For a 2K2 you should not pay much more than the invoice price. If the numbers work out, go for it. The lower APR might even offset how much you are upside down. Good luck.

I got my 2k3 for $600 under invoice, so you should do better than that for a 2k2. The MSRP is for people who have money to waste and don't do any research. Dont even pay attention to it. Go to Edmunds.com or Kelly Blue Book and price it with all the options and use the invoice price as your STARTING POINT and negotiate from there. Do not pay higher than the invoice.

I agree, why dont you just mod it! Unless you total it out or is leasing it,I cant see trading in on a car with the same body albeit a few enhancements.

Which dealer are your getting it from?

Grubbs? Bankston? Urban? Whatever you do don't get it at Trophy--they don't come down from sticker as much as the others do.

IMO, I would contact the internet sales/fleet manager and send them emails stating the exact car you want and how much you want to pay, and within a certain date. It's more or less an ultimatum for them--90% of the time they'll respond with a figure. Good luck.

BTW, where in Euless are you? I live off of Trinity Blvd and 360.

Set your self some goals.

I agree. Why trade within the same Gen.
Save X number of $'s over the next 10-12 months. Then buy an 04' next summer. Don't worry about what you owe on the 01' sell it yourself right B4 you buy the new 1. Then you will have the bargining power of cash in hand for the 04'. Hell you may even want an 04' G35 then.

Keep the 01 and add some mods

I have a 2001 SE and have been mulling getting a 02 or 03, I have even visited various dealers a few times. But each time, I talk myself out of it.

I would definitely wait for the 04(new design).
