Need help on steering quesiton, please

My car has a power steering/steering column problem. It is ok to drive, but now i am noticing a kinda high pitched sound coming from the passenger side of the car. It is behind the oil tank kinda under the car almost, but I'm pretty sure its in the engine. Any idea what this noise is, and what If i can get rid of it myself??? thanks

Check the PS fluid resivour and make sure it isn't low on fluid. Also check the PS lines from the pump/resivour to make sure they haven't collapsed in on themselves. If all these check out then your PS pump might be dying.

Actually it almost sounds like a vibration of two metals together towards the bottom back of the engine, it still has something to do with steering, could anything be hitting together??

Go to check the Power steering fluid if you listened to Nismo he told you the prob. Most likely its your power steering pump resivour is low on fluid. Or your pump might be dying. But first check the PS fluid thats mostly the prob when it comes to that noise.

I know a decent amount about cars, its not my fluid. Its a vibration sound of two metals hitting together when i turn my wheel any direction, it comes from behind the oil tank but almost under the car. It is not my resevoir or pump.

Does it only make the noise only when you turn the wheel, or does it always make a noise?
